FIVE

Monday comes around and I start off my day by heading to the office. The nice sunny weather makes me feel really warm inside.

In the car, I think of what I'm going to write back to Rebecca. I'm honestly super nervous.

Then, I remember I'm going to see Josh. Should I say anything? Probably not. Hopefully he doesn't mention anything either. I really don't want our friendship over a stupid kiss.

Well, it wasn't stupid, I just didn't want it. I'm the one who is stupid for kissing him back. Why Scar?!

I open up my laptop at my desk and as soon as I open up my email I respond to Rebecca letting her know that I'd be available anytime this week at noon. As I'm about to close my email tab, I see that I receive an email back from her. I open it and see that Damien and I will be meeting tomorrow.

Hello Scarlett,

Thank you you for your response. Mr. Lewis is available to see you tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. in his Downtown Los Angeles office. Mr. Damien is offering to send a ride to pick you up at any address you'd like.

Please confirm with me with the address.

Thank you,

Rebecca

I immediately type my response, letting her know it'd be great if they pick me up at the office since his building is only a few minutes away. As soon as I send the email, I walk out of my office and get scared as I bump into Josh.

"Hey!" he greets me with a wide smile.

"Hi! Guess what? I'm going to be leaving from the office early tomorrow because I'll be meeting with Mr. Lewis."

"Oh," he looks down at his feet, "okay. I hope it goes well."

"I hope so too."

At home I manage to get some files ready in case Damien would like to see what we do in our startup.

I realize that everytime I mention the meeting, Josh gets upset but doesn't say anything else other than to just be careful about my decisions. I'm just really excited if he helps out in someway.

At home, I slip into my comfortable joggers and t-shirt and lay on the couch to watch some tv in the living room.

Esame walks in and hope onto the other couch.

"Hey Esme, how was work today?"

She sighs, "Ugh, so annoying. There's this one very uncooperative guy in my team who just doesn't get his shit straight!"

That is irritating. "I'm so sorry to hear that Esme."

"It's alright. At least my other team members are working all together the way they should. Plus, I just came back from dinner with my friend, Rachel."

"Oh you've told me about her. She's that girl from work right?"

"Yeah! She's cool and really nice."

"Well you should invite her over. How's Eric?"

"You know," she gets and walks towards the kitchen, "obsessed with me like always."

I laugh.

She comes back with a glass of wine in her hand and sits back on the couch.

"He's sometimes just a little too much. But then when's he not, I miss it and that's when we you know." She winks at me and sips on her wine.

"You are so weird. Anyways, I'm probably going to sleep now. I'm meeting with the Damien Lewis tomorrow."

She almost spits out her wine, "Shut up! Damien Lewis?"

"Yup, that guy."

"You had not told me anything about this!"

"I know. I just got caught up on work and forgot to mention it to you."

"You're so lucky! That guy is so hot and he's rich."

"He's alright and I'm not there for that. Well, I kind of am there hoping he helps out my startup."

"Oh girl, I hope he does! Good luck! Go get your beauty sleep now, you need a fresh face for tomorrow." Esme exclaims.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow after the meeting. Maybe we can go out to eat dinner?" I tell her before I walk upstairs.

"Sounds good! I;m so excited for you. Goodnight!"

"Goodnight Esme."
