Alan’s P.O.V

“Alan, it’s okay, because I like you too. In fact I’ve liked you for a while now, and awhile having been since I first met you. I know it’s pretty ridiculous to develop a crush on someone when you first met them….”

This was the time for me to make a move; she already knows how I feel about the situation. I think I ought to prove it to her. I inhale just a little bit of oxygen before the whole world goes in slow motion around me. It’s as if time was surely slowing down just for me to make this exact move right. That’s when it clicks in my mind that this was it, the big moment, my lips meeting hers in such a swift motion. You know how in movies when the two kiss and the whole area around them slows down? That was happening, I felt as I we could do this all day.  Her lips mold perfectly with mine, little sparks of electricity going off… I wonder if Noe felt them too. Those fireworks don’t happen for just anyone. They happen when you really like someone. Was this how it was meant to be? For me to be with Austin Carlile’s younger sister and for him to not get mad for liking her? I had to tell her, I can’t leave her there just waiting for my word. “Noe, you don’t have to explain. All that matters is that we both like each other.”

Her faint smirk was slowly turning into a broad smile.  She didn’t even blink once; her eyes were glistening with forming tears like freshly made dew drops on blades of emerald green grass all over the lawns in the neighborhood in the morning. Her breathing started to slightly slowdown from the chase earlier. She blinked; the forming tears were now finally formed tears falling down her face. She slightly opened her mouth into a small opening, like a keyhole. She was about to say something, but what was she going to say?

“Alan, what you just told me was seriously the sweetest thing I’ve ever been told in my life. These are happy tears, not sad ones. They also may be from my foot falling asleep on me, but mainly from what you told me. Can you tell me cute stuff like that every day, put them on different colored post-it notes and place them on the most random places like my mirror, my car keys, my shoes, maybe even my door, Ooh, or the front door. No, but could you possibly ever do that for me?”

I took my thumb and gently wiped the small tears that were trailing down her cheeks. “Noelle Delilah Carlile, I would love to put cute little sayings on post-it notes and placing them in random places for you to find, like a scavenger hunt.”

“Alan, since when did you know my middle name? I don’t ever recall telling you it.”

I chuckled at the memory, “Austin and I were playing ’20 Questions’, and I asked him if he had a baby that was a girl what would he name her, and he said ‘Delilah, because it’s my sister’s middle name and I love that song.”

Noe gave me a ‘are you kidding me?’ look. I shook my head, while she scoffed and busted into rambunctious laughter. I smiled, I always loved how her laugh was, something truly odd but original and made just for her.

“Wow, I need to make sure to bring that up when Austin is around sometime. He can be such an idiot sometimes.”

How true was that? Austin is my best friend, but he seriously can be the biggest idiot on the planet without even knowing it. “Yes, how true that statement is. Trust me Noe, you have no idea how much of an idiot he can be on tour when you aren’t around. I always have to nag him. It’s so annoying. How do you deal with it?”

She chuckled and sat up as I did the same, “Trust me, I don’t even know how I deal with it, let alone live with it. It’s ridiculous; he can be such a child sometimes. He’s my older brother though, and all that I have, I couldn’t imagine losing him.”

“I couldn’t either, he’s my best friend. Noe, do you want to go back to the house and make fun of him?”

“Oh Alan dear, how I’d love to do that, but I need my shoes in order to do so.”
