• The nurse's child was deformed and she was jealous, so she stole Seongwha
• Seongwha didn't really realise he had been stolen because he was used to his parents not spending time with him anyway
• As time went on and no one looked for him the nurse realised his princely upbringing had left him incapable of living like a normal boy, so she sent him to work for a cooper
• Little did he know that his older brother, the Crown Prince, has been looking for him for years under the cover of a Royal Navy officer, silenced by his skeptical parents but quietly continuing to investigate his brother's disappearance
• The merchant ship Seonghwa was on was attacked at sea by the ATEEZ, which consisted of only Hongjoong and Mingi at the time
• Joined on as cook after being threatened with hanging from the (then much smaller) yardarm
• Turned out to be a fabulous cook, with useful cooper skills as well
• Once he got to know Hongjoong and Mingi, he willingly joined their cause and to this day would die for either of them
• As the oldest officer onboard he formed a special relationship with Jongho, the youngest officer after he joined a while later
• Was instrumental in the ATEEZ's escape from their first official run-in with the Royal Navy thanks to his smooth tongue
• Quickly flew neutral colours after spotting the fleet and pretended to be the Captain of a merchant ship while Hongjoong hid below
• Neither realised it at the time, but the Royal Navy officer he fooled was actually his older brother
• Became the boatswain since he wakes up early enough to get everyone else up
• Keeps the ship impeccable
• Known for being quiet in meetings but making good suggestions
• Very patient, but known to order the deck to be swabbed and holystoned which no one enjoys
• His sharp features create a cold exterior, but his attitude and compassion prove his warm interior

• Keeps his own problems to himself except for the occasional vent to Hongjoong, a practice that builds a number of skeletons in the closet
• Refuses to go back home and doesn't believe his brother is looking for him. Doesn't really have faith in anyone outside of the ATEEZ
