• Mother died in childbirth, so Yeosang was close to his father growing up
• Father was an astronomer and navigator who plotted out charts for the Royal Navy and taught him about the sky
• Shy as a child and had trouble making friends
• Others bullied him for his birthmark and called him ugly
• A loner for many years
• When he came of age, his father had him apprenticed to Si-Hyuk to learn navigation so that he might get enough experience to work for the Royal Navy in time as well
• Always struggled to please Si-Hyuk, and in time grew to hate him and his methods
• Never met Wooyoung until both joined the ATEEZ despite working on the same ship as him because both were always strictly confined to their duties
• Discovered Si-Hyuk was looking for a hoard of buried treasure once while working in the Captain's cabin and calculated the location of it
• When anchored at a harbour, he snuck out at night with the map to the treasure and discovered the ATEEZ was also there
• Wanting desperately to escape Si-Hyuk, he made Hongjoong a deal that he would hand over the map if he hired him
• Desperately in need of money to do repairs to damage caused by a storm and continue their search, Hongjoong accepted
• Yeosang was assigned to rigging until they reached the treasure plot and he could prove he was telling the truth
• Fell from the rigging and almost died on his first day, creating a fear of heights in him
• Thankfully his map was correct and the gold was found
• Hongjoong kept his word and promoted him since he was such a bad rigger anyway
• He was awkward around the rest of the crew at first, but an excellent navigator
• Clashed heads with Mingi a few times because of Mingi's superstition and Yeosang's skepticism
• The two more or less settled their differences after Dagger Cliffs
• Hongjoong doesn't like putting him in combat because he's afraid he'll get hurt
• Reads whatever he can get his hands on and has a bit of an imagination
• Quiet around everyone but Seonghwa and Wooyoung, sometimes even around them he doesn't talk much
• Always desperate to prove himself and hates being wrong
• Still gets hung up on things and holds grudges
• Has a lot of random skills and likes to tinker around with things
• Gave up on ever joining the Royal Navy considering that they're enemies of the ATEEZ
• Regrets disappointing his father by disappearing
• Not afraid to call people out
• Has an insane amount of charisma and doesn't have to say anything to get people to listen to him
