Lili's POV
"Crushed Skulls?!" His expression changes drastically, from a silly grin to a murderous expression.
"Can we not talk about this, please?" I say looking away.
I hear him sigh. I felt a light weight on my stomach again.
I smiled and laid down but when I shut my eyes, the weight was no longer there.
Before I could open my eyes, I felt his arms around me and his cologne engulfing me like barrier.
"Don't worry." He kisses my forehead which took me by surprise. "I'll protect you. No matter what."
"Eww, cooties." I tease.
A smile finds its way into my face and for the first time in a while, I slept peacefully.

I woke up with a familiar coldness.
He left me.
I don't know why but my heart clenched at that thought.
"Protect my ass. I can't believe 'protecting' is leaving someone in the middle of the woods all alone." I say.
"Why are you talking to yourself?" A voice says.
I shriek and jump 6 feet in the air.
"I have some bombass karate moves and I'm not afraid to use it." I say with my eyes shut and my hands in a karate chop move.
A familiar chuckle is heard and I open my eyes.
"Giraffie?" I say.
"Let's go before you're late for school." He says.
"Since when did I care about being late for school." I mutter. "But, yeah, whatever floats your boat." I say and walk past him.
"How do you know this place?" He asks.
"It's my sacred place. 2 years ago, I came here whenever I was happy or I wanted to be alone." I shrug. "How about you?" I ask walking past the tall trees.
"A year ago, I was having some problems and well I stumbled here." He shrugs.
It was silent until I broke it.
"Do you remember anything from last night?" I ask nervously.
When he didn't answer, I glance at him only to find a murdereous look on his face. The same one from last night.
Shit, he remembers.
"If you do, I was totally joking. It was nothing but a prank. So, don't take too seriously, buddy." I say patting his back hesitantly and walked faster in front of him without waiting for a reaction.
"Hey! Wait." He says but I just ran off without waiting for him.

I was trying as hard as possible to avoid Ryder but that seemed almost impossible.
That guy was EVERYWHERE!
Now, I am in the library, trying to come up with a plan.
No one comes here but the people who actually care about their grades.
I took a random book and sat at the corner of the library, where I am protected by the books and shelves.
