Every unit will have a first officer that will assist you in battle and present you with options, at certain points they can die. If they do you instantly lose. You also have a limited number of special units, if theyre all destroyed you cant get more and some choices will be unavailable.

Demolish bridge: only available at certain times, takes out a bridge to instakill anything on it or re route the enemy

Destroy tank: attempts to one shot an enemy tank by climbing on top of it and dropping a grenade down the commanders hatch, high risk of death
