(No ones POV)

"Umm, e--excuse me, t-that's my seat.." A small, quiet, black haired girl said, trying to get some boy out of her assigned seat. The boy seemed to not notice her when he continued to talk and goof off with his friends. The girl pouted and walked off. Going to a empty seat, she sat down after setting down her bag.

Catherine Lively.. A girl who is shy, quiet, has a stuttering problem, a girl who no one notices, a girl who always feels alone in the world, who thinks is gonna die probably in a few months..

Catherine is a foster child, her mother died in a wreck when she was 10 and her father committed suicide when she was 13. Catherine is now 15, living in a lonely world. She doesn't have friends, she's a ghost to everyone.

The raven haired girl frowned, holding in her tears, "I'm such a freak.. No wonder no one notices me." She thought to herself, but her thoughts were cut off when the bell rang and class started.

Catherine is negative to herself, she's very insecure about her looks, body, and her stuttering. She began stuttering since she saw her dad.. Hanging there on the ceiling... She remembers every details, she remembers the police telling her it's gonna be okay and that they placed her in a foster home, she remembers them asking her questions, but all Cathy could do was stutter and mumble, while bawling out her pale blue green eyes.

"Alright everyone, today we are doing a group project!" The teacher said, "But I'll be picking the groups." Everyone groaned, the teacher chuckled and began calling out name, while she was doing so, Catherine looked around, feeling anxious, she's not a big fan of group projects, its mostly her doing the work... "... Jakob, Calab and Hailey.. Then lastly, April (O'Neil), Casey (Jones) and Catherine!"

Catherine looked around the room, seeing everyone going to their pairs, she sees April and Casey sitting down next to each other, them looking around for the girl. Catherine was slumped in her seat, wishing to be alone and not with any one else honestly. But she rolled her eyes and stood up, grabbing her 80s fashioned messenger bag, walking towards the hockey player and the smart red head.

Anxiety ran through Cathy as she got close to them "Oh god, Catherine you're going to embarrass yourself!" Cathy basically started screaming to herself in her head but she tried to stay calm...

(April's POV)

"H---H-Hi." I heard a girl stutter from behind, I turned my head seeing that girl Catherine Lively. The foster kid who is awfully quiet.

I've seen her around a few times, mostly at the library. Something about her makes me want to be her friend, she seems chill and very sweet..
I smiled at her, her black hair was always in a messy bun, she always wore a worn-out light blue jean jacket, white crop-top hoodie, black leggings and light blue sneakers, she did remind me of people from the 70s and 80s, she dressed old school, which was my favorite about the shy girl.

"Hi! Im April, and this is Casey." I said, introducing ourselves, she nodded and grabbed a empty chair, sitting down in front of us.

We all planned out the project, we decided to work at my apartment later tonight, the bell rang and I grabbed my bag. I looked up, about to say something to Catherine but she was already gone.. I frowned, but shrugged it off and left..

(Catherine's POV)

I speed walked out the building, gripping onto the strap of my messenger bag, not wanting to hear what April wanted to say, I'm not good at socializing and I'm not used to it..

I kept walking down New York until I stopped, looking at my reflection on the window of a store... God I'm hideous.... No one will love me when I look like this... I'm a poor orphan with dirty, old clothes.. I frowned and looked down at my shoes, that were almost worn out. I sighed then continued walking, but this time slower.
