With the impending battle against the demons and their mutated servants, every member of Asylum started preparing. The explorers, the elite guards and some regular guards got equipped with the newest enchanted weapons and armor. They've started to relax on their training too, in order to prepare themselves in the upcoming battle.

Remuel started to prepare as well. With the help of Alejandro, he was able to form a greatsword made of hellstone. The sword retained the properties of the material. It has faces with expressions of agony and it emits screams of pain and torment that can damage the soul. It has no magical enchantment, but it is more than enough to deal with the demons. To ensure that its screams are not heard outside of battle, he asked Alejandro and Harold to provide him with a sheath that would silence the sword. He then decided to give it a name, "Mas Dolor."

With the command of Remuel, the coven helped Harold and his colleagues with the activation of the array. With their help, they were able to check if everything was working correctly in record time. All they have to do now is to activate it as soon as the demonic army arrives.

As for the leader, Pacifico, he went and got himself a huge pot and filled it with ingredients used to make magical medicines. After mixing everything up, he jumped into the pot and closed the lid. He then started internal cultivation as his body absorbed the medicine.

It has already been five days, and the demon army has started to arrive outside the outer gates of Asylum. All the civilians have already been evacuated to the evacuation center in the middle of the community. The guards have finally been fully equipped, including the reserves, and have already been deployed to their positions. However, Pacifico is still not finished with his internal cultivation, so Jacob and Robin are the ones in charge with commanding the guards and the explorers respectively.

The barrier has already activated, and is under the control of the coven, while Harold and some of colleagues went to the outer walls to provide magical artillery support. Some mages stayed behind to ensure that the barrier is in working order and to provide intelligence to the ones fighting in the battlefield using various divination equipment and tools.

Mages that are skilled in magical enchantments teamed up with Alejandro and his team of smiths to come up with new magical equipment that would give Asylum advantages against the demons. The fires of the forge roared and after a quick discussion of ideas and designs, the sound of hammers hitting metal on anvils were accompanied with chants.

Knowing that the impending battle is about to start, Remuel flew to the outer walls. There he found Harold, Jacob and Robin discussing possible strategies that would allow them to gain advantages against the horde of demons and mutants. He decided to go and provide his opinions to his colleagues.

"Ah, you're finally here," said Robin. "They haven't decided to attack us yet, so we still have some time to plan."

Remuel nodded. "With Pacifico still busy, we'll have to step in with the planning. Do we have any intelligence on the enemy, at least?"

"Yes we do," said Harold. "I just got these a few minutes ago from the ones performing divination back at the lab."

Harold duplicated the papers using magic before handing them out to the other three. "As you can see, they seem to be capable of forming siege equipment out of the mutants and their fellow demons. Furthermore, they seem to have expanded their gates, allowing them to employ larger demons."

"Our walls will not be able to withstand attacks from one of the bigger ones," said Jacob. "A charge from one of those behemoths will probably break the gate immediately."

"Then I suppose we'll have to kill them as soon as possible then," said Robin. "It would seem that large-scale magical explosions and silver weapons will be the best against them."

"Powerful fire magic would work too," said Remuel. "These things are not from the fiery parts of hell, so they're not immune to fire."

Robin nodded. "We'll do the same approach when it comes to dealing with their siege equipment too."

"Their flying units are what we have to really watch out for," said Harold. "We may have the barrier, but it won't last long if it sustains a lot of damage."

"I'll have to make some of the guards into dedicated anti-air gunners, then," said Jacob. "The new guns should allow them to shoot magical bullets to that height without a problem."

"Then my colleagues and I will bombard the enemy lines," said Harold. "If we have to, we'll support the guards in shooting down the enemy aerial units."

"I'll be in the front," said Remuel. "I'll meet them head-on while Robin and the explorers do their jobs."

"Yes, that's true," said Robin. "For now, I suppose our goal is to survive until Pacifico returns."

The other three nodded in agreement. Remuel said something, but his voice was drowned out by the loud roar of a large demonic beast that looked like a gigantic black bull.

Seeing that their enemy has finally decided to start attacking, all four of them quickly went to their positions and readied themselves for the upcoming battle for Asylum.
