"What did you just say?" He stands up and walks to the window as he dishevels his hair. "Forget what I said, it's nothing."

I stand up furiously and take small strides towards him. "Well, it doesn't look like nothing to me. What did you mean by saying that Marcella isn't my mom."

"I said it was nothing. It's not like I even know who Marcella is."

"But you just said her name some few minutes ago. It's not like I'm making things up you know!" why is he making things hard for me. Why can't he just finish what he started?

"Listen Natalia. I said forget it OK, it's nothing." I was about to protest when the door is suddenly pushed open and James storms in.

"Sorry to interrupt but we have to move. He's here and three of our men are down. We need to get out of here before he overpowers us. His men can easily outnumber us."

Thomas anxiously paces around the room scratching his head in frustration.

"What is happening?" right now I'm in a state of shock and confusion.

"James, get Natalia out of here. Take the back door and use the car at the front gate. Take her to a safer place, we all know Zach isn't just anyone to be messed with. As soon as I deal with him I'll find you guys."

A gunshot is heard and I can't help but scream. Thomas looks confused and I've never seen him this scared.
" Just leave already. "Thomas yells at Jack and I can't help but feel scared for his safety.

" What about you Thomas? "He studies me for a second before he says he'll be fine.

James rushes me through the back door and as soon as we get out, another shot is fired. Who really is this man?
We rush to the car outside and James steps on the gas. Luckily, no car is on our trail but to be safe, James goes around and round roads just to make sure no one gets to us.

He takes me back to the resort where we are having the school camp. Upto now, I hadn't realized that I was crying so I just rub the stupid tears out of my face. As soon as we park at the resort's park,I take out a sigh of relief.

James seems to be almost out of breath, he shuts his eyes and  lays his head on the headrest.

"James , what was that all about?"

"Zach and Thomas are arch enemies. They have a commodity that they are fighting for at the moment. It's not in my power to tell you what it is. But all you need to know is that Thomas isn't the bad guy. Believe it or not he's trying to look after you."

"But he tried to kill me James."

"I know, he's mind is just so messed up right now. He's trying to help you but he doesn't know he might hurt you in the process."

"But why is he even attached to me?I didn't even know him before I came here."
With the way James was opening up to me, now was the best opportunity to get information out of him. But before he answers, we hear a tap on the window. Thomas is casually standing outside with no scratch on his face.

James rolls down the window and Thomas pops his head in.

"I can see you guys are safe. But we have to watch out. This is only the beginning. Zach has his men every and so we have to be cautious. I will also have some of my men watch over you just incase he saw you or he has any information about you."

When did my life turn from better to worse?

" What does this Zach want? "

" You are going to find out soon. But for now, you have to be cautious. Don't stay out late unless you are with that boyfriend of your... "

" How did you... "

" know? I have my ways. Anyway as I was saying, stay out of trouble, don't make much friends. You never know who is against you. We have to keep you safe. "

" OH, so you don't want to kill me anymore? "

He takes a deep breath before looking between James and I.

" Let's just say, I changed my mind. " what the...

" What if you change your mind again, will you kill me?"

I know I was treading on dangerous grounds but I needed my answers.

" Maybe. "

What?

"Natalia, you have to get in now, I have to drop Thomas somewhere but I'm going to be back soon."
I look between the two of them before getting out.

Thomas walks in to take shotgun but before he gets in he whispers to me, "You may want to keep your ring out of Zach's eyes. You wouldn't want to get involved with him." I look at my hand but my ring isn't there. This can't be, I had it before this whole chaos began.

James pulls out of the parking lot and just when he's about to drive off, Thomas swirls my ring in his hand before smiling at me.

The nerve of that man, how could he! They drive off until the last thing I see is a tiny spot away from the beach.

I walk towards the room sector and go to check up on Matt. I'm sure he must be worried. I walk to his room and I find him seated on one the couch. However he is not alone. Makeup caked face  Mandy is with him. I feel bile rise to my mouth because I can't stand her.

It doesnt take long before Matt spots me. He rushes to the door and hugs me as if, if he let's go, I'm going to disappear again.

After he pulls away, he cups my face and gives me a light peck. The witch looks at us shocked as if we just said the sun was black. Her mouth opens wide enough and she tries to gather her voice.

"Thomas told me about everything. I'm so glad he's keeping you safe."

Keeping me safe? He's the one who kidnapped me in the first place.

"What is the waitress doing here Ash?" Looks like the witch finally found her voice.

Wait, did she just call me a waitress ?
