Old or new?

Natalia's POV

My morning classes went pretty fast today. I tried concentrating in most of them. My mom is to be having her heart transplant done in three months and we need to save up. The only job that was supposed to be giving me most of the money that we need is now on the bricks. I don't even know if I have it anymore.Seems I need to be looking for a new one pretty soon, but I wonder if it will be paying the same amount of money as this one.

I join Jessi and Jack for our lunch. This two seem to be clicking very well this past day .I will not be surprised if a baby comes popping out nine months from today.

"So mi ladies, what are you two going to have for lunch. "
"Get me a burger with fries. "Jessi  quickly replies.
"Nothing for me. Am good. "

"You barely ate in the morning and now you say you are full. Are you really ok? "

"Am good, infact I had something just now outside the cafeteria. I'll be fine. "
The truth is, I have been feeling nauseated and I even puked early today. Yes, I'm not pregnant and you read it right, I can't be unless someone had me unconscious and I underwent insemination without my knowledge.

Jack goes and shortly after he comes back with  their orders. I zone out the whole period they are  having lunch with their laughter  as my background.   So much is happening and  I need to sought things out. But first, I need to find a new job that's going to last.

"Guys, I need to go take something from my locker. I'll just meet  you Nate in our next class. "Jessi picks her bag quickly and heads towards her locker. If I had not known her for so long I'd say she was running away from someone.

I stand taking my bag and am about to tell Jack I'll be heading to class when he offers to drop me there. 
"I know something is off, you know you can share anything with me right? Am your friend. "

"I'm fi.... "

"Don't give me that crap. But when you are ready to talk to me, I'll be here. Always remember that ok?. "

"Thanks. "I can only manage to give him a weak smile.
"Its ok. I'll be waiting for that day. "He smiles shyly. I'm now at my class so I turn to say my goodbyes but it seems he has other plans.

Before I know it, he spins me and pushes me to his hard chest and hugs me tightly. At first am shocked and I respond by hugging him more tightly. I feel almost secure in his arms. Almost! He lets out a loud sigh and I feel his chest rising and falling systematically.

I let myself take comfort in his arms and he squeezes my shoulders softly.

"If its about yesterday's thing, just let it go. If that douche bag decides to let you go, he doesn't know what he's losing. But I have several places you can try if he fires you. So stop stressing yourself ok? "

I just nod to myself. Its not easy as it looks but I'll try not to stress out.

"Can I talk to you baby doll. "A voice booms catching our attention.

Due to reflex, I jump out of Jack's embrace and look behind him to spot the one and only Matthews who chose to grace us with his presence. Jack turns simultaneously and stands beside me.

Matthews narrows his eyes before saying, "alone. "

"If you need to say something, well you have to say it before me too Ashton.
I shift my eyes from Matthews then to Jack, then back to Matthews.

"Well, you don't disobey my orders. Am your boss remember, Mr Adams. "
Jack shifts his weight to his other leg and puts both his hands in his pockets.

"We are in school. You don't own me here. "
Matthews smirks at him then raises one of his eyebrows.

"You seem to be forgetting who I am here too. "
Jack growls and rolls his eyes. He turns and cups my face. I don't feel too comfortable by his actions but I don't show it.

"Remember what I told you Ok? "
"Sure. "
And with that, he turns around and walks to his class but not before sending Matthews a glare.

I keep my eyes on the floor which seems to be really interesting right now as I feel him walk towards me. He stops when he's some inches away from me and I have to raise my head so as to look at him.

I'm met with those eyes that first mesmerized my heart. Gosh, I could keep looking at them all day. For some unknown reason, I feel my heart increasing its beat as I keep starring at him and he stares back. When I can nolonger take the intensity of his presence, I look away.

I hear he mumbles something but I can't clearly  catch what he says.
"So what did you want to talk to me about. I know you are firing me so let's save each others time. I quit. You don't even have to pay me for the one day... "

He cuts me by placing his hand on my lips and I can't even start to explain how am feeling right now. I look at him bit he still has that emotionless face.

"You talk too much baby doll.I'd really like we talk about yesterday, but can we do it somewhere else. We kinda have an audience right now. "
He points towards my class and I spot girls sending me death glares while others  busy ogling at him.

This can never get old  can't it?

I quickly nod and he grasp my hands and leads me to God knows where.
We walk down the hall and past few classes before we reach the pitch.

"I know what I did yesterday was wrong. I shouldn't have shouted at you. But you were so clumsy I couldn't help it. I couldn't let what  you did lose what I was about to do. "

About to do? Oh know I get it. The girl was his better half. Was he planning on asking her out? Kiss her? Oh no, he wanted to marry her?

"Sorry for ruining your moment with your girl, "I blurt out.

"Do you always apologize for every single thing? "He casually asks and I bite  my lip unconsciously and shrug my shoulders lazily. "I guess so. "
He smirks at my comment then shakes his head.
"She isn't my girl. She's just an old acquaintance. What about you and Jack, how long have you known each other? "
"A day? "I blurt out but its more of a question than a statement.

"Only a day? "
"Yep, why ask. "
He scratches the back of his head lazily then he ruffles his hair making some to fall on his forehead. I quickly avert my eyes from his face because of all the things that are going through my mind right now.

"Well, the way you two were going all cosy doesn't look like you  only met yesterday. "
"He was just trying to be a good friend. "
"A good friend? He was practically taking advantage of the situation and... "

"and? "
"He was taking advantage of the situation and  you. "

My eyes widen in bewilderment and my  lips part slightly due to shock. How can he say that Jack was trying to take advantage of me. He couldn't do that.

"I don't have to explain myself to you Matthews. "
"Well, am just looking after you. I don't want my emoloyee to be a victim of circumstances. "
I knew where this conversation was heading to. He's such a pervert. And here I was thinking he changed. He's such a jerk.

"Well sorry for you but I don't think that's gonna happen. Anyway, thanks for your concern boss. I think we are done here. "

I turn back and quickly walk out of the pitch. I look at my watch and it seems classes ended thirty minutes ago. This can't be happening. I've never skipped class. Am about to open  the door out of the pitch when I hear Matthews shout. I stand in my tracks  but I don't turn back.

"You still have your job baby doll. I didn't fire you. "
I can just see that smrk on his face even without looking at him.

Aaaargh.
I quickly stomp out slamming the door behind me. Well, at least I still have my job.
