Carter was about to see some of her favorite bands for the first time ever! It was January 10th, and she was getting ready to see System of a Down, Escape The Fate, My Chemical Romance, Carnifex, and lastly, Miss May I. She was so excited and she couldn’t wait. This will also be her very first concert ever!

She couldn’t wait for the concert, but first, she had to choose what she was going to wear and she had to make sure that her friend was still going to go with her. Carter wanted to make sure she was still going because often, her friend wouldn’t show up when they planned things. The girl she was going with was her best friend, and her name was Jenna. Carter opened her closet and had to choose some shirts that were her favorite. She had to choose between a Slayer shirt, Escape The Fate shirt, Carnifex shirt, Guns N’ Roses shirt, or a Miss May I shirt. She just went with the Escape The Fate shirt. Escape The Fate is her very favorite band. Escape The Fate went above all the rest. She decided to wear high wasted shorts with the ETF shirt. To finish off the whole outfit, she decided to wear Vans.

Carter had long pastel purple hair, which was split down the middle, and always curled. She was about the average height that girls were (5'3) and had an hourglass body shape. She liked to listen to different kinds of music. She liked Metal, (hard to tell because she doesn’t talk about those bands as much as the other bands she listens to) Pop Punk, Post Hardcore, Rock, and others. Jenna usually wore black eye shadow, along with black eyeliner. She did a wing, which everybody loved because they always told her that it was perfect, all the time. She sometimes also wore red lipstick, which couldn’t be pulled off by very many people, but she made it work. She was fifteen years old.

December 26th

It was only a couple more weeks until Carter got to see her favorite bands. She had found out they were coming because she saw a poster downtown. She loved going downtown because she thought it was interesting. Carter liked how some places in downtown were full of life and people everywhere, and some places were nice, quiet, and peaceful. Carter often went to the peaceful spots with her friends. They also went to the restaurants that were down there. The restaurants were great and had really good food. Carter and her friends often met a lot of really cool people downtown so they went their A LOT. Carter had seen the poster when her and her friends were walking around and they passed by a place where a lot of concerts were. The windows were filled with flyers, but one caught her eye, and she was glad it did. The flyer read

The background was a picture of the headlining band, Escape The Fate.

Carter turned to Jenna and said excitedly “DUDE! I HAVE TO GO! THOSE ARE ALL MY FAVORITE BANDS! ESPECIALLY ESCAPE THE FATE!”

“DUDE I KNOW! YOU HAVE TO GO IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!”

Carter and Jenna were so excited. Carter, because she was going to see her favorite bands and Jenna was excited because her best friend was going to see them, and it was her first concert. Jenna couldn’t be happier for Carter. It was only obvious that Jenna would go with Carter, but there’s one thing they hadn’t thought out. They needed to ask their parents first. Jenna already knew she would be able to go because she always went to concerts, so she would definitely go to the concert. The only thing that wasn’t thought of was how Carters mom would react to that. Carter’s mom was very over protective and her mom had gone to a lot of concerts when she was young, so she knew what could happen at them. Since Carter was an only child, she knew that it would be difficult to convince her mom to let her do things. Carter had told Jenna that she would ask when she got home.

“Hm. Okay, well I’ll just wait until my mom gets home tonight then I’ll talk about it with her. I really do hope she’ll let me go and I hope she buys me a ticket, since I haven’t been able to babysit.”

Carter always babysat to get her money. She didn’t like to be home very much because her mom was always working. Her mom was a photographer, so she was always out and she had to answer to calls right away. Her mom hadn’t let her babysit in a while though, so she only had forty dollars. That sounds like she would have enough to buy a ticket and have a little extra spending money, but the thing is that she wanted to buy a ticket, but she also wanted money to spend at the concert.

It was eight forty eight and her mom got home at nine. She had waited forever and she was more anxious by the minute. She had been thinking of what she should say, and how she would ask her mom. Carter talked to Jenna about everything, like what time they were going to head to Zapped (the concert place) what they were going to do while they waited in the line, and many other things. They had decided to go at nine in the morning so that they can be sure to be in the front, right next to the stage.

Finally, it was nine. She heard her mom come home and as soon as she heard the door close, she ran downstairs as fast as she could. She had almost fallen down the steps because she missed a step, but she caught herself, luckily because that would’ve been a long, painful fall. She had gotten downstairs and ran to the front door to meet her mom. Her mom noticed how she was in such a rush and had almost fallen, and she had a very confused look on her face. “Woah Carter, be careful, you almost fell. What’s going on? Why are you so excited?” Carter was so excited she had explained everything so fast, her mom didn’t understand so she had to repeat everything again. “Well, you know my favorite band right, the one I’m always talking about, Escape The Fate? Well they’re coming to Zapped and a lot of other bands that I really like are going too, and I really want to go.” “Okay and?” was what her mom said because she didn’t understand what Carter was asking. “Well, the tickets are only $25 and I have $40, and I was wondering if I could go. I have enough money and everything, and I’m planning to go with Jenna, and a lot of my other friends are going too, and please oh please oh pleeeaaseee can I go, mom? Please? I have money and I’ll find a ride if you can’t take me, and ill be careful and everything, please mom?” “I don’t know Carter, you know how dangerous concerts can be and I just don’t know… Well, I’ll think about it, okay.” Usually when her mom says shell think about it, it was always no. Carter got so sad, and replied very quietly “okay”.

Carter went up to her room to tell Jenna that she most likely wasn’t going to go. She slowly went up the steps. She suddenly had no energy at all, and all she wanted to do was sleep, and not talk to anyone. Carter was very sad about the fact that she probably wasn’t going to go to the Escape The Fate concert. Carter decided to message Jenna and tell her. They talked about it for a while, and Jenna was sad too. She was sad because her best friend wasn’t going to see her favorite band. Soon Carter fell asleep. She usually stays up late, but tonight wasn’t her night, and she didn’t want to deal with it. She had gotten her hopes up, only to have it shot down, her mom had fallen asleep, and had forgotten to take Carter to a dinner like she promised she would, and soon Jenna had stopped answering her, and started ignoring her. She knew that was happening because she had saw screenshots of Jenna and other people’s conversations on Facebook, Jenna was posting statuses and was posting pictures on Instagram. The part with Jenna was normal for Carter, though. This happened quite often. Jenna always basically ditched Carter, and she also didn’t answer her a lot, but would answer other people. Instead of Carter staying up, waiting for the message she wasn’t going to get, she decided to go to sleep. She closed her laptop, and turned on the TV to her favorite show, ‘The Walking Dead’. Soon she fell into a restful sleep.
