Title: Happy Birthday

Finally, tomorrow was the day he had been waiting for in a while. The day that a certain h/c had anticipated for months now. It was finally the day a certain person was born! It wasn't his birthday of course, but a certain brunette's, Iwaizumi Hajime. M/N should have been happy that this day had finally come. He should have. After all, a week ago he had been thinking of the perfect gift for him and had planned an entire party with the whole volleyball team.

"Alright,let's go over the plan," Hanamaki motioned for everyone to huddle around. Fortunately, Iwaizumi hasn't arrived at the gym yet. It was to be expected,since Oikawa had been Iwaizumi's childhood friend,he was given the role to distract the brunette as much as possible as they set up Iwaizumi's house.

Iwaizumi's mom had been delighted to let them all in and decorate the living room with balloons and streamers and other birthday decor. Luckily,it was a weekend that Iwaizumi's birthday had landed. The only problem they had was to keep the birthday boy himself out of the house.

"Right now,Oikawa is out there with Iwaizumi at who-knows-where. He is stalling time for us to set up all this before they arrive. We need to use this time diligently," Hanamaki finished. Quietly,Kindaichi raised his hand "Yes,Kindaichi?" Hanamaki turned towards the first-year.

It was entertaining to watch Hanamaki and the others act like secret agents on a mission. They were all taking this seriously.
"If Oikawa-san is with Iwaizumi-san,wouldn't that mean he'd be able to keep Iwaizumi-san away for a long period of time?"

Hanamaki was about to protest but Matsukawa had beaten him to it as he shook his head "No, since its Kusokawa,Iwaizumi would want to go home as soon as possible,"

The rest of the team nodded. M/N then snapped his head towards the whole team, a look of realization on his face "Wait,no one's got the cake..."

Everyone seemed to stop what they were all doing. They had all been to caught up in doing their part that they had gotten to buy the cake. Soon,they all erupted in screams,excluding Kyoutani and Kunimi.

"You forgot to buy the cake?!" Matsukawa asked Hanamaki who frantically waved around his hand and head in protest "I wasn't assigned to get the cake,"

"Then who was?-" Kunimi briefly stopped himself,for a moment, something seemed to dawn on him "We didn't assign anyone,"
The room fell into silent as they stared at the usually quiet first-year.

"We didn't assign anyone," he repeated. It was then that the room erupted into screams once more. Ms.Iwaizumi couldn't help but let out a soft chuckle at the energy everyone held as they pushed around the responsibility of running to the bake ship to get the cake.

"M/N,you go!" Suddenly,the responsibility was dropped on him,leaving him in surprise.
"What,why?! I'm busy with the banter," M/N whined from the ladder as he tried to stick it to the wall.

"Kindaichi can handle that,he's taller than you-"

"Hey!" M/N exclaimed in defense.

"Just go!" With that,he was pushed outside of the house. They didn't even hand him money to buy the cake. He sighed before jogging to the nearest bake shop possible.

M/N spent an amount of time choosing the cake. He had to be sure that Iwaizumi would have loved it,despite the knowledge of the brunette never accepting things for granted. That was just another reason to be sure to give Iwaizumi the best birthday ever.

He had made sure to make puns on the letter written on the cake before paying and thanking them as he left. Fortunately,they had Iwaizumi's favorite flavor. Everything should go perfectly smooth now that all he needs to do is get back to the household before Iwaizumi and Oikawa without getting the cake in tatters. It should have gone smoothly.
