It was early one morning when I lay spread out across the couch, my legs stretched and my feet resting on Adam's thighs.
In a rare occurrence since Vincent had arrived, we had been left alone to our own devices.
Vincent had decided that he wished to see some sights and watch a band play in the local bar, something I wasn't particularly fond of.
Being stuck in a building with drunk people attempting to dance in their inebriated state and taking up my personal space didn't sound like my idea of a fun evening, Adam also decided that he wanted to stay out of that scene for a while longer, which didn't surprise me.
He hadn't exactly been the outgoing type before I turned him, now I had made him a near indoor recluse.
One of Adam's hands trailed patterns over the shin of my right leg, the other holding up a book.
He hadn't read much since his arrival, but there were times, much like that moment, where we would simply choose to sit in silence and enjoy getting lost in words on a page.
"Did something just happen to that character you like?"
I lowered my book and looked over it at him, raising an eyebrow.
"Huh? What makes you say that?"
He looked back at me and smiled a little, stilling his hand on my shin.
"Every time something happens to them, you squirm a little."
"Oh," I laughed, grinning widely, "no, that's just because I'm excited to read about him."
Adam nodded slowly and turned his attention back to the book he was reading, some biography of a musician that I wasn't familiar with.
As he reads, I take in his features.
He looked so serene sitting there reading, his face settled with no expression but still as handsome as ever, his hair falling over his right eye and his lip twitching in amusement every now and then.
"You know, Adam," I hummed, closing my book and setting it to one side, "if I were to cast characters from this book, I'd cast you as Grey."
Adam glanced at me from the corner of his eye then turned back to the book, finishing the part he was reading before setting the book on top of the amp he'd set up beside the couch.
"Who?"
"My favourite character in this series, Graham McCarron but they call him Grey," I grinned, swinging my legs around to settle on the floor. "By his description, his stature and hair are very similar to yours, so I imagine you in his place."
"Is that a good thing?"
I grinned and pulled my legs underneath me so that I could crawl across the cushions towards him to slink into his lap, one leg resting on either side of him while my arms wrapped around his shoulders.
"Very good, he's a bad-ass, tormented warrior covered in scars."
I bit my lip and gently ground against him, making Adam hiss a breath between his teeth and place his hands on my hips but I couldn't be sure whether it was to stop me or help me move.
He looked at me through hooded eyes, a faint smirk playing on his lips.
"I didn't know that you liked the tormented type."
"To be fair," I hummed, running my fingers through the hair at the back of his neck, "you don't really know my type."
With a tug of his hair, Adam's head snaps back so that he's staring up at me in a way that makes it easier for me to lean down from my looming position and capture his lips with my own.
There's a pause of hesitance before he kisses back, his arms snaking around my waist so that his hands can cup my ass and pull me against him with a harsh grind of our hips.
A soft groan passes my lips onto his as we grind our clothed crotches against one another, getting rougher with each movement.
Adam breaks the kiss shortly after, his hands rubbing circles and kneading at my rear while he nips at the crook of my neck, making me moan his name and tilt my head to give him better access.
"We shouldn't do this," he groaned, biting and sucking on the perfect spot to make me mewl, "Vincent could be back soon."
"Vincent does this all the time with men and women alike, I'm allowed to indulge if he is."
I tilted my head and caught his lips in another kiss, my hands pulling at his black shirt and sliding along his cold chest.
"Be my Grey, Adam," I smiled, resting my forehead against his with closed eyes, "even if it's just for one night."
