Alexa walks down the winding paths of the many town houses. Heavy breathing, uncontrollably crying and mind wiring about why? Who? What? And when?
As she inhaled she caught his scent. His sweet sweet sent. That's when she looked down and remembered she still had his old sports hoodie. That had his name on the sleeve. She hugged herself as the water works became stronger.
The weather was cold and dull. It look as though it would rain any minute.
Her mind kept reminding her of all the fun memories she had with Jack. Holidays. Going to his sports events. Holding hands everywhere they went. Kisses. Hugs. Company. Just having him to call her own. Their future plans : prom, holidays. Their birthdays were in a few months and they were going to spend that together.
Alexa sat on the closest bench and just closed her eyes. Thinking what went wrong. Was it something she said? Something she did? Was she actually good enough? He found someone better? Her mind wouldn't give her a break. She lived in an entirely different village and to walk back would take at least over an hour. She didn't have that strength but she didn't want to stay out till it was 8:00pm which is when her mum would of picked her up. It was only 1:00pm. She searched her pockets but she found no lose change. She looked in the back of her phone case and found a £5 note.
' There's a McDonald's not far from here. Maybe a few minutes walk? I could use a McFlurry right now I guess. '
She stood up weakly and pulled up her hood. Slowly, she started to walk in the direction of McDonald's.
A minute of walking passes when she hears running behind her. Out of nowhere, she feels a sudden sharp pain coming from her right thigh. She stops dead in her tracks as she sees a man in a black hoodie running in the opposite direction to her. She slowly looks down to see a knife sticking out of her leg. Alexa does nothing but stare at it. She feels the pain and she starts to tear up all over again. A witness already called the police and an ambulance by this point. Alexa falls on to the nearby grass. And starts to sob. She can't move her leg it hurts too much.
The witness stays next to her to try and calm her down and keep her company till the ambulance gets there. The police arrive first and an officer talks to the witness while a female officer kneels beside Alexa to ask her questions and keep her conscious as long as she can. The ambulance arrives on scene and takes Alexa into the ambulance. They ask Alexa for a contact and she gives them her home phone number.
After 5 minutes in the back of the ambulance, Alexa slowly closes her eyes and her hearing starts to go quiet like someone is turning the volume down and her vision fades to black.
