Alexa awakes in a plain white hospital room. She looks at her leg and sees a bloodstained bandage around her leg. It still hurt but felt better not having a knife protruding out of it.
She noticed Jack's hoodie on the table next to her and she decided to put it back on. While she was getting her hair untucked, she felt the infinity necklace jack gave her. She took it off and place it in her palm. She just held it. Tightly in a fist. She hugs the blanket and hears some doctors coming so she pretends to be asleep. They enter the room ignoring the fact Alexa has obviously been awake recently in order to put that hoodie on. Whatever.
' ok. We have to get her back into surgery soon. There's a small sharp piece of blade that is scarily close to her main vein. Even a small move of her right leg will send that piece digging into her vein and causing a bigger problem. Nurse, I want that blade piece out by the end of today! I am not losing this girl. She's too young to fly '
And with that, they left the room. Alexa thought long and hard about jack. He didn't need her anymore, right? He'll be fine without her. She clenched the necklace and looked up at the ceiling, she took a deep breath and ' accidentally ' twitched. She felt the blade go into her vein and she just closed her eyes and held the necklace. The doctors rushed into the room and the head doctor ordered Alexa to be taken to A&E immediately!!!
They wheeled her out the door and down the maze of hallways.
Jack and his family were walking down the hallway of the hospital when they heard rushing and shouting. They looked back only to see a gurney being wheeled down the hallway. Panic on the doctors and nurses faces. The gurney stopped next to Jack's family while the nurse quickly rushed to get Alexa's documents. Jack stared in awe at the sight before him. His heart shattered in to pieces. Alexa opened her eyes and started breathing heavily. A nurse stroked her cheek to try and relax her. Alexa slowly turned her head and made eye contact with jack. She started to cry and the nurse told her to try and hold back as crying could push the blood out quicker. Jack looked down his ex girlfriend's body to her bloody leg. Blood covering the gurney and bandage. Alexa sticks out her fist to jack and jack cups his hand under hers. She drops something in his hand and closes it. She holds Jack's hand before quickly removing her hand from his. Jack's dad asks what's going on and a nurse replied,
' I'm sorry sir but this is a life or death situation. We need to get this girl to surgery immediately! '
Jack maintains eyes contact with Alexa till he couldn't see her. He looks down at his hand and slowly opens his closed fist. His eyes tear up as he reveals the infinity necklace he gave to Alexa. He looks back up to the corner he last saw Alexa. His heart filled with regret.
