chapter 38 Budgeting

While you and Tom finally got new identities. It was time for you both to find a job. Luckily Tom noticed the help wanted sign outside the motel. Tom told a lie that you both were doing a road trip to Canada as a pregnant bucket list plan but since we didn't carefully look at the budget you both are broke. The motel happily hired Tom on the spot even though Tom didn't have a lot of experience on motel business they hired him as a manager but it'll be the night shift.

You on the other hand, they were looking for waitresses at the dinner, you told them the same story and was quickly hired on the spot. But you get the morning shift while Tom remains in the motel to sleep to be prepare for the night shift from 12am to 8am. You had a good schedule, you worked from 8am to 4pm, take as much break as you needed due to your pregnancy and you get to take food home not only for you but for Tom as well. With both of the schedule you both still get to see each other but the minute you get to the motel room you want to sleep. You really tried to be up in order to have at least a conversation with Tom, luckily you get Sundays off. The same went to Tom too

On Sunday day, both of you struggle to make sure you had not only enough money in the budget for the train ride but both of you decided that in Chicago it was time for you both to get a car.

"Ok so we first have to save money to get the train ticket to Boston from there we head to Cleveland then Chicago and we can get a car later on," Tom said.

"So this week alone you made 551 and I made 60 dollars so that makes us at 611. The train. Is cheap is like...20 dollars the cheapest motel is 70 but it's the price from Boston to Cleveland that is at 129. That one is the one that scares me," you say.

"Adding all that, with just 2 biweekly paycheck, I don't think we will have have a lot left over,"

"Tom...we will have 854 left,"you said.

"And that is why you are the brains behind the money. How much is from Cleveland to Chicago?" He asked.

"Like 60 dollars," you said "and after that only 734 left."

"So how long must we stay here?"

"Ok...so...an average car is like what $2,000. So what we can do is stay here for at least 6 paychecks so we can have $1,128 left over for gas, food and clothes.

"This is why I married you, for that beautiful brain of yours," He said.

"Tom, come on. You are the one with the diploma," you said.

"I'm serious, (Y/n). You are a math wiz," he grabbed your hand and you both looked into each others eyes. Both of you leaned in and kissed.

"Tom, your hand give here," you grabbed his hand and lay it on your stomach, "they are kicking or maybe one of them."

He smiled and leaned down to kiss your stomach. "I promise kids. Daddy will be there for you and your mummy." He looked back into your eyes and later a kiss on your lips once again.
