PAIRING: Tony Stark x Daughter!Reader

REQUEST: imagine being tony's daughter in infinity war and you die/fade in his arms?? GIMME ANGSTTTTTTTT

It wasn't supposed to happen like this. The Avengers we're supposed to win, that's how it had always been. Sure, there were moments where fate seemed to have other plans for Earth's mightiest heroes, where all hope seemed to be lost, but it had never been this bad.

We had Thanos, we had the gauntlet, how did it all go so wrong?

Thanos had the time stone, and now, he was who knows where, tracking down the mind stone.

"Why did you do that?" My father asked "Why did you sacrifice the time stone for me?"

"We're in the end-game now," was all Dr. Strange had offered as an explanation.

Peter, the young boy my father seemed to take under his wing, and a close friend of mine, stood beside me.

His eyes were glossed over with unshed tears, and a look of fear and confusion. His child-like innocence and naive sense of hope, had been shattered.

"What happens now Mr. Stark?" He asked in a shaky voice.

My dad, who sat leaning against a rock, sighed. "I don't know kid," he admitted in a defeated voice.

W-What? But-"

"I don't know! Alright?" My dad yelled. I had grown accustomed to his sudden outbursts due to frustrstion, however, Peter had not.

"I-I'm sorry, sir," he stuttered out, tears glistening in his eyes as he attempted to hold them back.

"It's okay Peter, he didn't mean it," I comforted, giving his shoulder a small squeeze. "He's just frustrated and scared like the rest of us."

"Yeah, but we'll all be okay, right?" He asked, I could tell how badly he wanted confirmation, something that would give him even the smallest sliver of hope, anything. But none of us could give him that and tell the truth.

The best I could give him was a sad smile. "I'm gonna go check on my dad, just hang in there," I said. Peter refrained from saying anything else as I walked away.

My dad's head hung low, holding it in his hands as if he didn't have the strength to hold it any higher. I took a seat beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I told you to stay home," He said, finally looking up at me, his voice had an ounce of sarcasm in it. I let out a breathy laugh, "Yeah? And when has that ever worked?"

"I know, I just don't want you getting hurt, if you di-"

"I won't. I promise," I said, "I love you dad."

"I love you too kido," he said, a hesitant smile playing on his lips.

"Besides, us Starks are like cockroaches, not even dropping a moon on us could kill us." I joked, an attempt to lighten the mood a bit, and it seemed to work.

"Yeah, I guess you're ri-"

"Something's happening," Mantis interrupted, capturing everyone's attention. I watched in horror as her hands slowly faded into dust, the rest of her body soon following.

"What the hell?" I breathed out, standing up and walking over to where she once stood, there was nothing left but scattered dust.

"Quill?"

This came from Drax, it didn't take long before he met the same fate as Mantis.

My father was suddenly beside me, his hand gripping mine tightly, as if holding my hand would protect me.

It seemed as if it wouldn't stop. Mantis. Drax. Quill. Strange...

His last words left a haunting echo that bounced around my head... "There was no other way."

Peter, Nebula, my father, and I all stood in shock, confused as to what happens, and scared that one of us was next. It seemed our fear was warranted.

"Dad?" I said, my voice shaking, panic setting in. "Dad, something's wrong!" I suddenly felt light as air, and a feeling of numbness washed over me. My dad caught me as my knees gave out.

"I don't wanna die, dad please!" I begged

"No, you're fine, sweetheart- I've got you, you're not going anywhere," his voice was shaky, his words broken.

Our bodies crumpled to the ground, and he cradled me in his arms. It was his turn to beg for my life.

"Please don't take her, please don't take her," he whispered over and over.

"I love you, dad, so much."

A wrangled sob escaped his lips.

I could feel my body slowly turning to dust, as I began to accept my fate. My eyes caught Peter's tear glazed ones.

"Take care of him, please," I announced, my dying wish. I didn't want my dad to be alone.

Peter nodded.

Once I had his confirmation, I stopped fighting. I let my body become nothing more than trillions of specks of dust. Hearing two final words before my mind went dark.

"Mr. Stark..."
