Poem - This Claustrophobic town

This claustrophobic town has me wandering it day and night
Searching for a little peace of mind,
A light to guide a lost soul through the never ending darkness,
A way to mend and clear this mess.

But this claustrophobic town has my memories scarred
How come I don't have a get away card?
Oblivion is my escape, but reality haunts me in my my dreams
Grateful am I to the pillows and covers that muffle my screams.

So, let's just get out this town forever
All we have to do is just leave and look back, never.
It's midnight and everybody's asleep
Let's make a promise, I know we can keep.
Let's just flee away from here,
Am afraid, but that's the thing about fear.
It stays with you only for so long,
It becomes your ally through the rights and wrongs.
It'll keep us company,
We have nothing to worry.

I just want to let go.
So let's leave the past behind, look forward to a different tomorrow.
Away and free from this claustrophobic town,
I know we can reach it through the ups and downs.
