Poem - The shattered soul

So tired and exhausted was her soul;

Sometimes it wished oblivion would swallow it whole.

Surviving through every mental battle lost,

She learnt that even happiness came to her with a cost.

Everyone around her said they cared,

But couldn't, for none had witnessed the pain she bared.

Inhaling and exhaling pain

Over and over again;

She wondered when will it all end

Who was it destined to come for her and tend.

Hoping for better moments and memories everyday,

She wakes up whilst telling herself 'It will all be okay'.

But alas if only what she wished for had been true,

Wouldn't she had to go to bed with everything gloomy and blue.

Days and weeks go by,

The world watches her fake smiles and lie.

Yet there's always hope.

Hope that one day she wouldn't have to cope;

With all the distress and pain

That makes everything seem lost in vain.

Hope that it will all come to an end.

That one day, someone to her shattered soul would come and amend.
