Error POV
Nightmare and I were destroying an au. Inktale. It was a well known au and his brother liked it so, he said destroy it. I had just killed a woman when I saw a child watching. A Papyrus. What was odd though was the baby he was holding a Sans. It couldn't have been older than two. Normally sans' were older than their brothers. I walked to them and summoned their souls. Only the Papyrus has a soul. I shattered it. Then before he turned to dust, I took the Sans. "...Nightmare, this one doesn't have a soul!" I yelled to him. He walked to me. "What!? How is that possible? Every monster has a-" he paused when he saw the child. Soulless, and still smiling. I looked at her. She laughed. "And sans' aren't usually girls... other than gender swap but, that's besides the point." "What do we do with her?" I asked. He shrugged. "Keep her. A soulless being could prove useful in the future." He said. So we took her back to Nightmare's castle. Killer, Cross, Horror, and Dust saw the kid and looked confused. "Ooooo let's kill it!" Killer said. "You can't. It's soulless." Nightmare sighed. Cross looked at it. "What's it's name?" He asked. "In her world, Sans I guess. But she came from InkTale so... Ink?" I suggested. "Sounds reasonable." Cross said. "Aw, So we don't get to kill it?" Killer was now upset. "No. And if you try, expect to be fired." Nightmare said. When people who work for Nightmare get 'fired' they're killed. I looked at Ink. She was curious, looking around. Her star eye changed to a question mark, then a star again. I found it strange. Then again, I kill people for fun. I guess I can't judge. We decided she'd stay in the castle and eventually be trained to follow what we do.

*after two years, Ink is happy, not completely knowing what happened to her original family or au.

Ink POV
It's my birthday! I am four years old today. Error was by me when I woke up and he was asleep. I tried climbing onto him but I was to small. He did wake up though. "Oh, hey kiddo. Happy birthday." He said, smiling. He picked me up and helped me pick what clothes I'd wear today. "Come to the main room when you're dressed, okay?" He asked. "Okay." I replied. I got dressed and looked out my window. It was cloudy outside as always.
