It only took about four minutes to get from Top-Hat Tower to the somewhat distant new kingdom, but those four minutes were probably the most exciting four minutes they've ever experienced. Traveling along an electric wire was pretty fun. As soon as they were close enough for Mischief to slow down and for Cappy to release the bond between her and the Spark Pylon, the rope snapped. At least it was one less thing for Cappy to have to do, but it wasn't as good for Mischief- the rope snapped right above the ground, leaving her to fall once again and get a mouthful of dirt.
"Well, here we are! The Cascade Kingdom! I'm fairly certain there's a hat-ship somewhere around here, so we'd better get looking!" Cappy ignored what had just happened, reverting to Mischief's witch hat and dropping himself onto her head as she stood up. "Alright, so... what do I do?" The confused neko spoke up, taking a few steps forward.
"To heck if I know. We'll just have to find out!"The hat's brim tilted upward, making it the closest thing to a smile. Looked like the adrenaline from capturing a power line didn't die out yet. Mischief was used to running in the face of danger, so this was no problem, right?
A bark coming from an orb attached to a chain said otherwise. Or rather, barked otherwise.
"...what in the heck is that?" Cappy asked, shifting backward just in case. "That's a Chain Chomp, my friend. Acts like a dog, but isn't one. Don't pet them, they're just cold metal and not fluffy at all. It's disappointing. Also, they hurt you." Mischief's curt explanation somewhat helped, but not enough that it didn't pass the 'should I add a sassy remark to this' meter inside of Cappy's brain. "Wow, couldn't have guessed that from looking straight at it." He rolled his eyes, earning a counterattack eyeroll from Mischief.
"You are one sassy hat, ya know that?" The neko picked up a random stick to try and distract the Chain Chomps. 'If they're technically dogs, then maybe they'd go after a stick? Wouldn't hurt to try.' She said to herself as she was just about to throw the stick, but stopped right before she was about to let go. "Uh, is that thing supposed to be glowing?" Mischief pointed to a glowing rock in front of a tall pillar.
"Yes? or- no? I don't know! It's a prehistoric kingdom, it's probably best if you didn't mess with it- Hey! Are you even listening to me?!" She had almost completely ignored Cappy's sentence, considering she stopped trying to either break the rock or pry it open.
"Well, yes and no. I'm only listening so you don't have to keep repeating it or try to catch my attention again. It might not make sense, but whether things make sense to you or not isn't my problem." The rock didn't crack. It seemed too hard to be able to break with another rock or just by trying to open it.
"Ya know what is your problem? Getting out of the way before one of those metal dogs slam you into the rock." Cappy could've tried to warn her less condescendingly, but at this point he couldn't be bothered.
"Wait, what-"Mischief swerved out of the way as the Chain Chomp lunged forward. It was strong enough to break the glowing rock, seeing as it shattered into multiple pieces right after the Chain Chomp hit it.
Before either of them could do anything, the ground started to shake, and the pillar behind them fell, making a bridge to the other side.
"How convenient..." Cappy spoke under his breath, eyeing the makeshift bridge. Unfortunately, he couldn't say anything about it. A glowing yellow crescent moon floated up from the debris.
"Oh, my gosh. Do you have any idea how useful this is? And how surprisingly convenient this is?" As Mischief grabbed the Moon, Cappy kept explaining how useful these glowing crescents were.
"Yeah, uh, turn the volume down for a sec. Why are you so excited over a glowy banana?"
"I-...what?" Cappy stopped raving about the Power Moon, checking if his ears weren't deceiving him. "What did you say?"
