『 Chapter 33 | War's End 』
Shanks, mostly known by others as Akagami, doesn't want to believe the vivre card that vanished right in front of his eyes. He's wishing that it's just a dream, a nightmare, even. The one he had taken in as his own daughter cannot just die that easily, right?
The sky suddenly turned dark as they approached closer and closer towards their destination. Lighting and thunder accompanied their voyage as the sky cried heavily. Huge waves came tossing their ship around, but the captain kept his balance.
"I'm going on ahead." He said, not waiting for a single response from his crew and just launched himself towards the sea.
When he arrived on the Marineford's area, he was greeted by a huge mess. He first rose from the water, running his fingers along his soaking wet hair to get some of the sea water off. He guessed that the pouring rain would wash off the sea water, so he quickly proceeded to stride over to the battlefield with his light steps, his presence concealed as his eyes scan over the area.
A familiar straw hat caught his attention, so he walked over and picked it up, looking for its caretaker. Just as he's about to look for the young boy, he sensed a rather strong attack coming, making him hold Gryphon together with the straw hat before proceeding over to block a rather hot attack.
"..." Shanks stared silently at the Admiral, Sakazuki, before him after blocking and obliterating the said man's attack that was directed at the brothers who are being brought to safety.
He's looking for someone other than the caretaker of his straw hat, hoping that she's still...
"Looking for that foolish little child, huh?" The Admiral cocked his head to the side, and Shanks completely ignored him. "Unfortunately for you, she had already been sent to the afterlife." Shanks shifted his gaze back to the Admiral after hearing his words.
"I... see." The pirate captain's words sounded rather cold, with hidden venom under them. "I've come late then... but," He sheathed Gryphon, his eyes looking grim as he raised his voice, "I've come to end this war."
He only raised his voice a bit, yet it seems like his words reached everyone's ears.
"Akagami? Their scuffle with another emperor was just yesterday!"
