Zoya Chen was Miss Allison's maid.

She was more like a mother to her than the Queen. She was the one who brushed her hair, who sat with her till she slept and calmed her down when she cried about her nightmares. She was the only one who knew the second part of the story Ruth always told to those who found out about the fact that she was the second queen.

"Allison dear!"

Alice heard Zoya call her. She knew it was Zoya because she was the only one who called her 'Allison dear'.

It was always only 'Allison dear' when Zoya called- never Alice or Lisa or anything else.

"Yes, Zoya! I'm in my room!" She responded loudly.

The thirty year old lady entered her room wearing a light green dress with red flowers on it. Her light chocolate skin seemed a little pale. Her green eyes looked worried and her dark blonde hair was haywire. She was sweating. She must have ran.

"The queen called for you, dear. It seems important. She told me to quickly come and get you so I came. And...Allison dear, why are you still not dressed? It's already half-past eight!" Zoya spoke as she looked at Alice, confused.

"I woke up late." Alice explained, "I was unable to sleep at night after they told me about..." Her face went dull. There was a lull in the conversation for a few minutes.

"Oh dear, dear! It's alright! I'll make arrangements with the king and I'll come with you to Maréregno... Along with Minho of course." Zoya tried to cheer her up.

She gave a dull smile and said, "Oh well, let's go before mother comes to get us!" She stood up and took one last look at herself. Ruth never allowed her to be underdressed.

Her dark blue gown with white borders looked alright. Her sandals were strapped and not loose at all. The only thing that worried her, was her still puffy hair.

She picked up the comb and gave it Zoya. "Work your magic and set my hair." She said. "Always!' Zoya smiled and brushed her hair gently but neatly.

"Do you know why she has called me?" Allison asked.

"I cannot say that I don't but I don't know exactly what she called you for. I have a fair a idea. You'll know."

You'll know, meant that Zoya didn't want to speak about it anymore.

"All done! Let's go."

"Sit down." Charles told her as she entered the room.

She felt a trickle of sweat run down her back as she sat on a chair that creeked as loud as she wanted to scream. "The second news might be more dreadful." He warned.

Ruth entered Charles' room and said, " I'll speak once and I'll speak clear."

She looked so serious as if she was about to tell her that she wasn't her mother.
And that's what she said:
"I am not your real mother. I am the second queen. You are not my real daughter. But we are expecting... My real child."

Alice sat there, silently for sometime and questioned, "Is this some kind of a sick joke? First you tell me I have to get married. Then you tell me that my mother is not my mother. What's next? I was delivered by a goose?"

"You will not speak that way to us Alice!" Ruth commanded.

"What am I to call her now? And-And what about my... Real mother? Your first wife?" Alice asked her father.

"Your mother passed away two days after you were born. She- her body was unable to take the change. She vomited and went dull day by day. She had a very high temperature and... She-," he sighed heavily, " She died."

She remained silent for very long.

Then her breath was shaky as she screamed on her parents:
"So you married her?! You married Ruth?!" Alice screamed. Tears rolling down her cheeks. She wasn't crying about the fact that Ruth wasnt her mother, she was crying because her mother died because of her.

She killed her own mother. She killed a person. Not intentionally or directly, but indirectly she did.
She even broke the motto of the royal family: Your people before yourself.

And her father just married another person.

"How did you even know Ruth?" She asked. "She was your mother's sister..." Charles said and looked down, unable to face his daughter.

Allison felt..........

Shameful. She felt sick.

She felt shameful of the father she once looked up to.
His wife died and he married her sister and oh, let's not forget that Ruth is expecting another heir now.

It was too much. All too much.

An enormous thank you to all you people who have read, shared, commented and voted for my story. I know this update is sooner than expected. But the story is long and the chapters will be too.

Just to let you all know, there won't be any love triangles in this. There are more shocking things on the way.

All I can say is, Get Ready.

Love you all lots and thank you once again.
