"FINE" you shout as you slam the apartment door and stomp your feet down the hallway. 'What an asshole' you think to yourself as you press the elevator button multiple times hoping it would arrive on your floor faster.

A few seconds pass but you are so fed up with everything that just decide to take the stairs. "UGH" you let out an obnoxious sigh, cross your arms, and head to the end of the hallway where the stairs are. The faster you get away from this place, the better.

Your boyfriend Jacob, lived on the very top floor of the apparent building, so it was a shock at how long the walk to the lobby was.

Halfway down the stairs, your mind races back to the thought of what just happened with your boyfriend. 'How could he do that to me' you think to yourself on the verge of breaking down.

Tears start to fill your eyes and you miss a step almost causing you to tumble down the stairs.

"What a jerk," you mummer out loud hoping no one was around to hear you talking to yourself. But honestly, the only thing on your mind was Jake. 'I can't take it anymore' you think, throwing yourself against the wall, sliding down to the floor.

The dark eyeliner starts to mix with your tears and starts streaming down your face.

Your mind scrambles through everything that just happened. 'Was this all my fault? I wish i hadn't reacted the way I did...'

'No. This was completely his fault. I did nothing wrong! HE'S the one with multiple texts from other women. END OF.'

The thoughts keep replaying in your mind, causing the crying to be endless.

"(Y/N)? Oh my gosh, darling, what's wrong?" you hear a gentle voice call from a flight of stairs below. The footsteps start to get louder and it's obvious the person is running as fast as they can to come comfort you.

From the time you heard the person call your name, to the time they arrived by your side, you tried to clean yourself up a bit. 'I probably look a fucking mess, why is this ass trying to get to me so quickly' you think as you wipe the mascara stained tears from your cheeks.

"Dave, oh ... I was just--"

"Shh, it's ok. You don't have to explain"

I have always been deeply and hopelessly in love with Jake, but ever since he introduced me to his band mates, I must admit I've had a crush on the guitarist. Even if in my heart the 'crush' was more than it seemed, I refuse myself to let it take over my life. Jake is my boyfriend. Dave is his best friend. It would be completely immoral to sleep with both of them... Not that I'm denying the fact that I might have considered it before...

"You and Jake get into it again?" Dave asked with a flat tone in his voice. He seemed caring but uninterested. Do Jake and I seriously fight that much that it's starting to bore people?

"C'mon, stand up sweetie, you can come over to my place and we'll talk about it." Dave reached out his hand for me to grab, but in my fragile state, I'm lucky if my legs could even work at all. Dave seemed to realize this after a few seconds of holding my hand, which was shaking like a leaf.

He clutched onto my forearm and dragged me onto my feet. His hands were so masculine and strong; probably from all those years of guitar playing.

At this time we were face to face, but before I could look into his eyes I had to take a deep breath. He has the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen; they were almost intoxicating.

"You comin'?" He says reaching his hand out to me once again, assuming I was too heartbroken to walk steadily on my own.

I interlock my fingers in with his and we make our way down the stairs to the parking lot.

For the first time in a long time, I felt safe.

He made me feel safe.
