Hey guys, so I was reading over Chapter 5 a second ago, and I realize I'm not even happy about the way it came out, I feel like I didn't even let enough happen. So to make up for it, I'm giving you another Chapter. 2 in 1 day :D You will be finding out more about mystery boy in this chapter. His picture also happens to be to the right. I thought he'd be perfect for the part. Enjoy!
-Bunny.
I'd like to say I got to see mystery boy again sometime during the week after the concert, or that he snuck into my room again and left me a note, but he didn't. It's been a couple months since the concert, it's Friday, the last day of school before Winter Break, to be specific. The rain hasn't let up at all, it basically rains every other day. Ivy and Angel are still together and are enormously happy.
"So it's set then?" I snapped out of my daydream, and turned my head to Ivy. "Huh?" I asked, obviously confused. Ivy sighed, and put her head on Angel's chest.
"You need to stop thinking about mystery boy so much, you're always spaced out thinking about him. It's been months since you last saw him. Shouldn't you give up?" Angel said.
I raised an eyebrow, and shook my head. I'd finally told them about my mystery guy, but I didn't like the fact that I was so obvious.
"I wasn't even thinking about him, I was actually thinking about how happy you two have been the last couple of months." I gave him a pointed look that basically said "what do you have to say about that Mister Smart Guy?" He gave me a lopsided grin, and hugged Ivy closer to him. Ivy turned in the embrace, so she could face me.
"Please do ignore him, I'm sure he'll show up soon. I was just saying if you've talked to your parents about the school ski trip? For this weekend?" I frowned, I definitely have.
"Yeah I did, I'm sorry Ivy, I can't go. We've got this family thing they want me to go to." I lied, truth is , I hadn't asked them.
We're not exactly that well off, my dad recently got diagnosed with cancer. It was in it's first stages, the doctors said it was good they caught it so early. So he stopped working and started chemo. He's been really tired, it's all been getting to him. My mom had to start working, so she was rarely home. I picked up more shifts at the bookstore and stopped going out. I was trying to save my parents money. I hadn't told anyone, mainly because we were all hoping it's something my dad would beat and we'd get to move on, as if it'd never happened. I felt bad for lying to Ivy and Angel, they're my bestfriends and I can trust them, but I don't know, I just couldn't.
Ivy pouted, "Noo! " she wailed, "Gees your parents suck! When will we ever get to go skii'ing again?" I bit my lip, I wasn't about to get mad at Ivy, she didn't know what was really going on.
I pushed off the hood of her car and hugged her. "I'm sorry Ivy, but have tons of fun okay? Take lots of pictures and bring me back some cheesy little gift."
I turned to Angel and hugged him tightly. "Take care of my girl Angel. Remember, she was mine first, I'm just letting you borrow her. "
Angel smiled and kissed my forehead. "Don't worry about it Little Rebel, I'll protect her with my life."
I smiled, loving the fact that they were so in love. I pulled away and gave them one last wave, they'd be leaving tomorrow morning, and wouldn't return for the full week of break. I hopped on my Motorcycle, slinging on my helmet. Today had been an okay day, no rain in sight, a little bit of sun, so it was okay to ride my motorcycle, and honestly I had missed it.
I pulled into my garage and walked inside. Dad was sprawled out on the couch, with Ivan on the floor sitting Indian style. They did this a lot, watched movies together or just hung out while Ivan did his homework. I walked to the couch, giving my dad a kiss on the forehead.
