The rom hack booted up. Every little detail was apparent. The creator put a lot of work into it. I was so phased by it that I didn't speak. Morgan brought me back to earth with a nudge on the shoulder.
"Oh!" I chuckled at Morgan. "How's it going, guys? Welcome to Zoroark Zephyr! With Morgan!"
"And I'm here too!" Hunter yelled into the mic, loud as usual, but he seemed a little different today. "I'm playing... Blastoise Bloodstone! This work of art right here is a fan created rom hack, just for us! We only know the creator's nickname Avo. So thanks to you!" Avo... Such a weird name. It must have a meaning behind it.
"So, are we ready?" Morgan asked in her usually peppy and excited voice.
"Yeah! Let's go!" I declared. We had a blue, empty screen in front of us. Our screens had to options...
"Hero or villain...?" Hunter repeated the words to himself.
"Why don't we each choose a different one?" Morgan suggested.
"I think I should be the villain." Hunter fought for his place as the bad guy. I didn't really mind being the hero, but I'd rather be the villain.
"Why not?" I looked at Morgan for approval. She nodded her head, smiling back.
"Whatever works for you. I'm just here for commentary." Morgan added to her head nod. I pressed hero just as Hunter pressed villain, and a gentlemanly figure appeared on my screen, opposing to Hunter's character. We read carefully through what each had to say. Little did we know the connection these two had. The character that appeared on Hunter's screen was named Trevor. He had a smug grin and a cigarette. He sported a team uniform, like team rocket, but with a bright red B for Bloodstone. The black Bloodstone T-shirt was put together with a pair of deep blue sweat pants and a matching SnapBack. He talked of hiring Hunter for Team Bloodstone and that he would have a grand time at other's expense. My character on the screen was dressed as a cop in a pale blue uniform, but he was definitely a good cop if that. He was smiling, and seemed to have a British accent, with his use of words like "poppet" and "love". He told us we would embark on a journey to fight away "Pokémon Ruffians and Thugs" on team Zephyr. We out our normal names for a change, and were asked:
"Are you ready to go on an adventure for the future of the Pokémon world?"
It asked us the same thing.
We answered yes.
