The next morning she wakes up very early. There is a lot of noise in the house, so she decide to change her pyjama into normal clothes and walks downstairs. In the kitchen sits a girl she don't know, Amelia and Meredith. The children are playing on the ground. She steps right into the woman.
"Hey, I'm Zorana"
'Maggie Pierce. Do you live here?'
"For a short time.."
Amelia interrupt her.
'I'm her aunt'
'I don't know you had a niece?'
'Me either'
Zorana's taking some cornflakes and eat her breakfast.
'Why don't you go with us to the hospital? Maybe you can learn something?' Amelia asks.
'euhm.. okay! What time do you leave?'
'In about 15 minutes?'
'Right, that should be possible!'
About a half an hour later they arrive at the hospital. Meredith is directly paged because a pattient is crashing. Zoey walks with Amelia to a desk and there she update the charges. 'Normally I have interns who do this things, but there are no interns today.' she keeps talking to Zoey. Or maybe herself. After 5 minutes a man comes to Zoey. She met the man a day before. 'Heey, did you find what you were looking for?' he asks. 'Owen Hunt'
'Zorana Shepherd. Yes. Or no, actually both.. I was looking for my father but he is death.. so now I'm living with Amelia.'
'You're a daughter of Derek?'
'a lost one, yes.'
'Who is your mom? Addison?'
'No, Jessica. you don't know her.'
'So, Derek got a lost child.. I didn't expect that..' Zoey Laughs.
'I need to go further.'
The day goes smoothly. Sometimes Amelia has a patient and she is alone for a minute, sometimes she does something Zoey can help or anything. Amy showed her how te read a head CT and when you see something is wrong. It's very interested for her! 'normally I have surgeries planned, but today not. I hoped for unexpected surgeries, but it is already 2 PM.'
'But you work till 7 PM, right? Then you have still 5 hours left for surgery!' says Zoey. Amy wanted to agree, but then her pager goes off. 'Patient collapsed, we need surgery now. Ask Hunt to find you a place at the tribune. See you after surgery.' and she runs to her patient. Zoey says what she said and walked around the hospital to find Hunt. When she sees him, she stops him.
'Hey, Amelia ordered me - a kind of - to ask you to find me a place on the tribune so I can watch her surgery? Do you want to do that?' she asks polite.
'Sure! Walk with me.' Zoey walks after Owen to the tribune and he points to a place in the back.
'Thank you!'
'Can you handle a surgery, or do I need to stay with you?'
'no I can handle it, thanks'
'good! Bye!'
Zoey goes sit over there next to a small woman. The woman looks to her, but she ignores it a little.
When Amy has the brain open, zoey can't control herself. 'Wow, great. How did she do that?' the woman looks again to her.
'Make incision, drill the skull. But you knew that for sure, because you're not allowed to sit here if you haven't done medical school.' she sais.
'yeah. Ofcourse. It's impressive.'
'You look very young. What is your age?' there is a short silence.
'is that important to you?'
'I'm Doctor Bailey.'
'...Oké.'
'Oké?' She's indignant.
'Not Oké?'
'Who are you???'
'Shepherd.' Bailey laughs.
'Shepherd? Do you believe it yourself?'
'yeah.' she watches the surgery and after it she walks to Amelia.
'I wasn't supposed to be there, right?'
Amy laughs. "Who caught you?"
'Doctor Bailey?'
She laughs again.
'I feel sorry for you. You met the chief.'
