is was raining outside as thunder sounded outside. it was 2 in the morning and Keith lay in his bed thinking about his wife and missing child. then he thought about boy 19. then the idea came. he had been hit around. loud noises scared him. Keith run out of bed and into boy 19's room. he was on the floor crying. keith hugged him as he sobbed. "shh it's okay it's okay i'm here. it's just thunder" keith hushed.
boy 19 gripped onto his shirt hard. keith grabbed boy 19's backpack and grabbed his bear. it was a purple panda bear with on side of it's face flat. he gave it to boy 19 and he seemed to grip onto it hard. keith looked at the bear. "where did you get this" he asked as his son mark had the same one. "it's the only thing I have from my parents" boy 19 said and he gripped hard on keith's shirt as the thunder boomed.
keith pulled out a picture of mark with his bear. the bear was the same but mark's had a rip in it's leg. he showed boy 19. that's my son the one that went missing. "he has my bear" boy 19 said as he turned the bear over. showing a small rip in the bear's leg. keith felt his heart drop. could it be? no no they said they were dead. but there was no bodies found.
"how old are you" keith asked. "i'm almost 7" boy 19 answered. mark was almost 1 when he was taken. boy 19 knew what keith was thinking. "are you my real dad" he asked. "i don't know" keith answered. "can you do a DNA test" boy 19 asked. "maybe I don't know i'd have to ask" keith said. "it's not that hard aunt pidge she would know what to do" boy 19 said. "it's 2 in the morning" keith said.
"then can we do it when everyone is awake" keith said. "what....what if you really are my dad" boy 19 asked. keith looked him in the eye. "then i'm the happiest father in the world to have a smart brave little knuckle head like you" keith said. boy 19 didn't know what to say. no one had ever said anything so sweet to him before.
boy 19 brock down in sobs again as he hugged keith. "keith hugged boy 19 as he hoped that it was true. had the gods given him his son back? he hoped they had.
