Chapter 27

"Byeol? Minki? Whoa, I didn't expect to see you girls here!" Chan walked up to their friend group with a smile and stood in front of Byeol. Everyone else looked at each other with questioning glances.

"Um. H-hey Chan. Yeah. These are our friends that we told you about," Byeol then felt Jeongin's arm wrap around her waist. "And this is my b-boyfriend. Jeongin." She was still shy about calling him that.

"And who exactly are you?" There was more than a hint of jealousy in Jeongin's voice as he pulled Byeol in front of him and secured her in his arms.

"Oh, right. I'm Chan! I work for Byeol's dad and I'm the person he sent to help her look for an apartment. Minki came along too, and after we found the place, I took the girls to dinner. They told me about you guys and I was super excited to meet you." Chan smiled at the group as he looked around.

"I thought you went back to Busan though," Byeol looked at him questioningly.

"I did, but remember how I told you guys that your dad would be sending some interns back here? Well, it happened way sooner than I thought, so here I am!" Chan chuckled. "Oh! And my friends, they're here too! Guys come here!" Chan hollered to his friends that were still standing by their cars. The two boys approached their group and stood beside Chan.

"Hi! I'm Woojin!" The light-brown haired boy spoke up and waved at everyone. His smile was contagious and Byeol found herself unable to stop smiling because of him.

"I'm Minho." The other boy, who's hair was black, did not smile and actually kind of intimidated the girls. He looked around the group and his eyes stopped on one person for a moment before he cleared his throat and looked back at Chan. "Is that it? We have people waiting on us."

"Oh yeah, we'll have to say bye for now, we have some friends that we are meeting up with, I thought they'd be here tonight, but I guess their plans changed. Oh well. We'll see you guys later!" Chan waved and then followed Minho and Woojin back to their cars and drive away.

"I don't like him." Jeongin spoke in a low voice.

"Give him a chance. He's actually pretty cool. And he treats me more like family than my own parents do." Byeol turned around in Jeongin's arms and looked him in the eyes.

The boy couldn't say no to Byeol so he just nodded and kissed her head.

"I wonder who they were supposed to meet," Minki looked around at her friends.

"Good question, but I'm sure we'll meet them later. We should probably get going though, bc little miss here is pretty worn out," Jae nodded her head towards the sleeping Hana in her arms.

Jeongin smiled as he saw his sister sleeping. "Yeah, we should probably go. You wanna take her for the night, Jae?"

The older girl nodded at Jeongin and smiled. He smiled and grabbed Byeol's hand before walking towards his car.

"See you guys later!" Jeongin opened the door for Byeol to get inside and waved to their friends as he shut the door and got in the driver's seat. "You hungry?"

Byeol looked over at Jeongin to see him smiling at her. She giggled and nodded her head as his hand reached over and he laced his fingers with hers.

"Perfect, I know just the place!" Jeongin started driving and put some music on. Byeol leaned back in her chair and started playing with Jeongin's fingers in her lap as he drove through the night.

The car ride was filled only by the music playing, but it was comfortable. After about 30 minutes, Jeongin parked his car and opened the door for Byeol. When she stepped out, her eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
