3rd Person POV
[Titans are still everywhere, having their way with people. Gas is running low. HQ gets overrun with Titans. Conny, Jean, Mina, Armin, Sasha, Annie, Reiner, Berthdolt, Ymir, Marco, and Krista all stand together on a roof]
Conny: We have to make it back to HQ! Staying here will only attraction the Titans' attention!
Jean: You want to be a leader and lead the charge? Be my guest!
Sasha: I'll take point! How about this...
[No one pays attention to Sasha. Mina stands in the corner completely silent. She sees Armin by himself. She goes over to comfort him]
Mina: There was nothing you could do. Don't blame yourself.
[Mikasa arrives]
Jean: Mikasa, what are you doing here?
Mikasa: Where is JP?
Annie: Why don't you ask Mina or that dumb blonde over there.
[Mikasa walks over to Armin]
Mikasa: Armin, where is JP?
[Armin doesn't answer but stares down at the ground. Mikasa starts to get pissed]
Mikasa: Armin, where is JP? Tell me now!
[Armin sits up and screams the names of Squad 34 and that everyone had died. Everyone was in disbelief that JP was dead]
Reiner: JP is dead?
Mina: He died saving me.
[Annie walks over to Mina]
Annie: You should've died instead!
Reiner: Easy, Annie.
Annie: Damnit! I told you, JP! If you died I will kick your ass in the afterlife!
Krista: There is no way that JP is dead! He was the best out of all of us!
Jean: If he's dead then how do any of us stand a chance?
Mina: I'm sorry. But it's true.
[Armin starts to cry hard. Mikasa places her hand on Armin's]
Mikasa: Armin, now isn't the time to be emotional.
[Mikasa helps Armin stand. Mikasa walks towards the edge of the roof]
Mikasa: Marco, correct me if I'm wrong but if we make it back to HQ and refill on gas so we can get home?
Marco: Yes but HQ is surrounded with Titans and even with your help there is no way we can...
Mikasa: I can do it.
Marco: What?
Mikasa: I'm strong. Really strong. None of you comes close! You hear me! I am a warrior! Know this, I have more than enough strength to defeat all the titans and get back to HQ. Even if I have to do it alone. As far as I'm concerned, I'm surrounded by a bunch of unskilled, cowardly worms! You disappoint me and JP. You can sit here and twiddle your thumbs and watch how it's done!
Marco: You're crazy! You can't do it by yourself!
Mikasa: If I fight I live. If I don't I die.
[Mikasa heads towards HQ. Everyone is frozen. Jean speaks up]
Jean: Let's go! We weren't taught to leave a comrade alone!
[The group follows. Armin notices Mikasa is using too much gas]
Armin: She's using too much gas! She's too emotional right now!
[Mikasa runs out of gas and falls. She lies on the ground. Her blades broken]
Mikasa: I lived a good life.
[From the side, a Titan approaches her. It attempts to grab her but she escapes]
Mikasa: Why am I still fighting? I've lost everything! Why am I still fighting?
[Mikasa looks to run but another Titan walks towards her. Cornering her]
Mikasa: Why do I still fight?
[Mikasa then hears a voice in her head]
JP: (Voice) FIGHT! FIGHT! THE ONLY WAY TO LIVE IS TO FIGHT!
[Mikasa starts to cry]
Mikasa: JP, I'm sorry. I can't die because if I do, then I won't be able to remember you! I will fight to the end!
[Mikasa draws a blade and gets ready to defend herself. Suddenly, one of the Titans punches the Titan that was trying to capture Mikasa. Mikasa sees this and gets very confused. Connie and Armin see Mikasa and take her to another roof]
Armin: What's going on?
Mikasa: That titan is fighting the other titan!
Conny: It must be an abnormal!
[The taller titan gets into a fighting stance. The three look to see what will happen. The taller titan punches the other titan's head clean off and then stomps on the corpse mercilessly. After the victory, the tall titan roars]
Armin: Mikasa, take my gas.
[Armin trade gas with Mikasa and gives her his blades. He saves on broken blade with which he plans to commit suicide with. Mikasa takes it away from him]
Mikasa: None of that, Armin! You will not be left behind!
[The three stand and stare at the Titan that saved their lives]
Mikasa: Why does that Titan seem familiar?
