Leona shot up from her laid down position, Her 'peaceful' sleep being interrupted by a Nightmare. She sighed shakily and placed her head in her hands until she felt a strong hand on her shoulder. "You Ok, Leo?" Jonah asked the shaking girl who nodded. They were running out of supplies and they both knew they wouldn't be safe here much longer. "Jonah. . . I think it's time we leave this place. We need to know what it happening. . . I need to find-" She froze and looked away, letting her thoughts overwhelm her. "Hey, Hey. . . I understand. We need to explore anyway. We have all of our weapons and you have that random Backpack over there- Let's make a quick run." He spoke calmly to her as she glanced up into his eyes, instantly feeling her worry slip away. She nodded and stood up from her corner where she slept. Stretching her arms upwards she felt a satisfying 'Pop' go throughout her back. Leona's brown eyes glanced around looking for her spare clothes which she had folded neatly in a pile.
"Joe, Make sure to take your gun." She warned, knowing it would be dangerous. She let a groan escape her lips as she contemplated leaving the boy here for his safety. "Leona? You Okay?" He asked curiously and the girl closed her eyes. "I'm fine. L. . . Let's Go." She said and headed up, unlocking the door which kept them safe and looked up. The bright green grass she had grown to love was dead and brownish. The normal blue sky seemed to be dimmer than she remembered and she furrowed her eyebrows, moving up so she could help Jonah out. She held her Handgun tightly with a knife in her free hand. "Stay Close." She muttered to him and seen him nod out of the corner of her eye. She looked around cautiously and slowly walked towards the street looking around. She seen a dark figure in the distance and waved to get it's attention.
"Hey!! You Okay!!??" She yelled, seeing the figure turn around and limp towards her at a quick pace. "H-Hello?" She whispered and as the figure got close enough she smelled it. Rotting Skin, Blood. . . She seen the skin rotting away at the Man's body and she gasped, pulling up her gun. A moment too late. An arm snaked itself around her shoulders protectively as a Gun was put to the Zombie's head and the owner pulled the trigger as the Undead creature dropped to the ground, not moving. Leona shakily looked up and seen the serious look on Jonah's face. "J. . . Jonah. . ." She mumbled and the boy pulled his arm away, "So, Were in the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse and you freaking YELL!?" He whispered harshly, grabbing her shoulders tightly. "I-I didn't und..understand! I thought maybe. . . I thought it was someone hurt!" She whimpered. "You cant always trust-" A zombie bit into his shoulder, blood soaking through his shirt. "Jonah!" She yelped and pulled up her gun, shooting the Zombie in the head and holding Jonah in her arms.
