"Iselen, calm down, I've told you several times... you look beautiful."
"I'm sorry, I'm not comfortable with the outfit my closet has chosen. I don't dress like this usually, you know that. Shouldn't it be black instead of golden? I'm supposed to be the Queen Consort of the Underworld."
"Well, I'm delighted with the dress and no, I expect you to dress in all the colours of the rainbow." Hades mischievous smirk while her eyes rake all over my body should make me feel angry but I'm so happy since she allowed me to go back home, to our palace in Erebus, that I'm unable to scowl at her anymore. "Everything will be all right, babe, there's no reason for you to be nervous." She slides her arm around my waist and kisses my cheek gently before walking again.
But I can't help feeling nervous because I think I don't belong to this place despite I'm wearing a stunning and see-through golden dress that shows my curves in a scandalous way, in case it wasn't flashy enough it has small diamonds among the embroidery work and sequins, matching the earrings and bracelet and high-heeled golden sandals with diamond buckles. I think my closet was trying to copy a classic Greek tunic adding an edgy touch... but I believe it's gone too far; the problem is that I couldn't change my outfit because it knows me deep down and was sure I'd complain. When I walked in the closet after taking a bath, all my dresses and tunics were vanished, the huge room was empty and only this dream made of golden see-through fabric was on a hanger. I could only wear this or come to the Mount Olympus naked.
I almost freaked out when I realized I couldn't wear underwear and one of my nipples was almost visible but it was worthy in the end when I saw Hades' face the moment I arrived to the throne room. It was pretty clear she was about choking on her own spit before staring at me with her mouth wide open. She looks edible too wearing a stunning jumpsuit made of black satin tied around her neck, showing her bare back and arms and highlighting her colourful tattoos: her red ankle boots are the only touch of colour in addition to them. Her hand leaned on my back is trying to reassure me a little but she's failing miserably although it's helping me to keep my balance and walk with firm steps on my high heels.
"Are you seriously saying you don't have a throne at the Council of the Olympian Gods? I don't understand it..." I whisper while we walk through a wonderful garden covered with flowers of all kinds imaginable, if doesn't matter if they come from the tropics or grow in cold countries: the whole design is perfect and petals combine their colours beautifully... obviously, my divine mother is the one taking care of these plants and trees helped by Cloris, the Goddess of Gardens.
"That's because I'm not an Olympian Goddess," Ruby shrugs like it's nothing but looks at me frowning when I stop abruptly.
"That's not... how is that even possible? It's not fair!" I yell outraged. "You're Hades, you rule over everything below the earth surface, you're important... you are..."
"Babe, calm down." My wife laughs before leaving a sweet kiss on my lips and rubbing her thumb on my furrowed brow. "Nobody said I'm not important. In fact, I'm so powerful that my relationship with my brothers and sisters is... delicate. I don't have a throne on Olympus because I hardly ever come here, I rule over an underground kingdom, as you said, and it's an enormous amount of work. You can't even begin to imagine how much time it takes to control that no one is escaping from hell, punishing bad guys and rewarding the good ones, I keep the cave well-maintained because it supports the world above, I have to keep locked dangerous inmates like Cronos, I have to maintain the equilibrium... making you happy and loving you too... although I'm not complaining about that part."
