Lilly and I were sitting on the couch in my new room at her house. I had my arm around her, both of us watching a rom-com. She was whispering in my ear.
"Hey, my mom said we could go to the drive-in tonight. They're playing a new action movie. Wanna go, Johnny?" she said. She always called me 'Johnny' when she teased me flirtatiously.
I smiled. "Yes."
She smiled, as I leaned in to kiss her. She wrapped her arms around my neck, kissing me. I held her closely, gently.
As our lips departed, I still held her.
"Babe, I want to hold you until it's daylight," I said.
Lilly giggled. "Go ahead. I'll see us in the morning, baby." She put her head in between my neck and my shoulder, closed her eyes.
I ran my fingers through her long strands of hair. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
