Chapter Four - "Dan. Where Are You?"

It was now just moments after Serena and Jenny found out that Dan was missing from his bedroom.

"Wait what? Where could he have gone?"

"I don't know Serena but look, HIS WINDOW IS WIDE OPEN."

Jenny & Serena run toward the window and then they see a ladder from his bedroom window leading all the way to the bottom of the building.

"Quick lets go and find him."

"Wait, I need to ring my Dad and tell him that-"

"No Jenny you can't. He's grounded and if your Dad finds out that he's gone missing he will get Dan into even more trouble."

As soon as Serena said this, the front door to the apartment flung wide open and Rufus walked in. He ran straight to Serena and was about to give her a hug until he noticed that Dan wasn't in his bedroom and his window was wide open.

"WHERE'S DAN? Why is his window open? Can someone explain to me what is going on."

"We don't know whats going on Dad. The last I spoke to Dan was an hour ago and he was in his bedroom."

"YEAH WELL NOW HE'S NOT JENNY!"

"Okay umm, Jenny, what was the last conversation you had with Dan? Like what were you two talking about?" Serena asks

"Okay so basically, Dan killed our Grandma in Rhode Island a few days before we came back to New York, but I'm not gonna get into it I'll let Dan tell you the story when we find him, but the last conversation we had was when I told him to ring our Mom back and try to fix things and apologise, the I went out of his bedroom and went back into mine then Serena, you knocked on the door."

"Oh my God, Jenny. That means he's gone to find your Mom."

"WHY DID YOU TELL HIM TO RING ALLISON FOR JENNY? SHE NEVER WANTS TO SEE OR SPEAK TO HIM EVER AGAIN!"

"Okay Rufus, please, just calm down. I don't know this whole situation but please, shouting and getting angry at Jenny isn't going to help you bring Dan back. Let's just call him and see what happens, then if not, we go out and find him."

Both Rufus and Jenny nod and Serena rings Dan.

"Oh, nice dress by the way."

"Oh thank you, I got it from-"

But before Serena could finish her sentence, she gets interrupted by a voice message saying the Dan can't come to the phone and that she should leave a message. So Serena leaves a voice message and says,

'Dan. Where are you? Please pick up. We are all really worried about you. Look I know what you've done and you can come back and sort it out, please, don't runaway.'

She then ends the voice message and they then decide to go out and find Dan.

"Oh, wait guys, on the way, can we please make a quick stop at the school?"

"SERENA! WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO GO THE PROM!"

"No Jenny, I've got a friend who can help us?"

"Who?"

"Blair."

"Oh my god, yes."

So Serena, Rufus and Jenny all arrive at the School Gala and Serena goes inside to find Blair. Once she finds her, she tells her the whole situation thats going on with Dan.

"I barely know him S. Why should I help you find someone I barely know?"

"Looks please B. If this was the other way round, and Nate went missing, I'd help you."

"Yeah, thats because you're friends with Nate and I'm not friends with Dan."

"Please. Please just help me."

"Ugh.. fine. But this better be quick. I have to come back in time for them announcing the King and Queen of the Gala-"

"Yes. It's you and Nate. Like it always has been for the last five school Galas. Now come on!"

Blair, Serena, Rufus and Jenny all get in the car and decided to go round New York to try and find Dan.

"So Jenny."

"Blair! I just wanted to say I love your dress. It's amazing. Where did you get it?"

"I got it from my Mom."

"Oh yeah, she's Eleanor Waldorf right?"

"No thats my aunty. Yeah, that's my Mom."

"Haha, well umm its a really pretty dress."

"Thanks."

It was now an hour into the drive and they still found nothing.

"Dad. Why don't we go to Moms?"

"What in Rhode Island? At this time? On a school night."

"You go. I'll stay home."

"No. Absolutely not. I'm not leaving my fifteen year old daughter alone-"

"She can stay with us!"

"Wait really?" Jenny says eagerly toward Serena

"Yes of course. I mean it's not like it's weird is it? Our parents know each other and it'll give us a chance to get to know each other better right? Like a mini sleepover?"

"Oh my god, yes! Dad please, please, please."

Rufus looks at Serena and smiles. He then agrees to let Jenny stay with Serena whilst he goes to Rhode Island to try and find Dan. Rufus turns the car back around and goes back to the apartment. He packs an overnight back, gets back in the car, and drives off. Leaving Serena, Blair and Jenny at the apartment.

"Right. Since we can't do anything now, why don't we go back to the Prom?"

"YES! It's nearly King and Queen time."

"I wasn't invited."

"Jenny. Everyone was, you just didn't know about it till a few hours ago.. Hey, go get dressed, pick out a nice outfit and come with us." says Serena

Jenny then excitedly runs to her room and starts getting dressed for the Prom. Meanwhile Blair and Serena have a chat in the living room.

"Hey so did you talk to Nate?"

"Yeah I did."

"And..?

"Well, I thought he was going to be mad at me, but he wasn't. He was super nice and understanding about it and then we actually got back together."

"Oh my God, Blair, that's amazing."

Serena gets up to hug Blair and then Jenny comes out wearing a black glittery dress with bright pink high heels. Then Serena says,

"Right. Let's go to the Prom!"

Serena, Jenny and Blair all leave the apartment and head to the Prom.

{GG}: At this rate, Dan won't be back until everyone leaves for collage. But the real question is, where is he and is he okay? Dan better hurry back for his sake, because doesn't he know that here on the Upper East Side, secrets don't stay secrets for long.
