At first, Stephen was blinded by the light of the area surrounding him. It took a couple of seconds for his eyes to adjust to the light. He knew this wasn't earth. There was a twilight color to the sky, a piano, and a giant stone door that seemed to go nowhere. Stephen observed the door very thoroughly, walking in front and behind it, wondering why this door is here. Suddenly, Stephen heard a loud voice, yet there was nobody there but himself. "Play me a song." The voice requested. Stephen asked in a scared tone, "Hello? Who's there?". There was no response. "Can you hear me?"
The voice ignored Stephen and ordered, "Play me a song ". Stephen walked up to the piano and played a very short, and simple melody and the stone door opened. an applaud came from a distance away from Stephen and so came another voice, "Well done.". Stephen was scared out of his mind and there was no way to stop his heart pound out of his chest any second. However, Stephen noticed something. Any human being would be able to hear their heartbeat with so much adrenaline coursing through their body, but Stephen felt nothing from his chest or even his lower body at all and hadn't noticed it until now.
Stephen looked down and realized he wasn't even human anymore. He had mysteriously transformed into a dark blue cloak. All of his facial features were bright blue as well. Stephen heard footsteps getting closer and closer to him until they finally came to a halt. A calm voice came out of nowhere, but it was a different voice than the other voice ordering him things.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Rose. I'm guessing your name is Stephen?".
Rose was nowhere to be seen.
"H-how'd you know my name?? How did I get here? How do I go home? Where are you? Where am I-"
"One question at a time. Our planet is called Betiko. Everyone on Betiko gets alerted when somebody new is about to enter the atmosphere. We have a very small population here so it's a very special event. Some of Betiko's inhabitants are in space, waiting for those newcomers, even though they're so rare. They put you in a capsule and send you down to our planet in that capsule. They precisely choose a location in a dark area with a guarantee of no escape. You were meant to be sleeping for hundreds of years, when nobody inhabits Betiko or somebody reaches the tower. You just got lucky and woke up earlier than you were supposed to and there happened to be a puddle. By the way, did you know puddles are used for transportation? You grow drowsy when you stare at a puddle so then you fall through that puddle to the puddle that's connected to it. It's very mysterious how it works and how everything's connected, but it works. Also you were wondering where I was. Thing is, I'm invisible. I can't even remember what I used to look like. Does that answer some questions?"
"Well actually, I have one more question. How do I get home?"
"Well, the tower. It grants any 3 wishes you ask of it... Actually, there's been a war going on for it for millions of years back when it was first discovered and is still going on. I don't know why we still fight this war. We're all so tired we just want it to end already. I would be more than willing to go with you if you're gonna try to reach the tower... Will you?".
Stephen thought about this very deeply and had finally come up with an answer, "Okay... as long as I can go home.". The twilight in the sky made Stephen tired. Stephen thought to himself, "Should I? I'm already exhausted and it's only the beginning of the journey. I feel like I'll regret this decision. Too late now..."
"Alright! You'll be back home in no time. The only way to reach the tower and Betiko is right through this door!", and so the two begin their journey to the Tower.
