The interior of the Tower was very narrow and only a large set of stairs.
"Hey Stephen."
"Hey Rose."
"I'm gonna miss you."
"...me too..."
Stephen tried to hide his emotions but he couldn't. No matter how short the amount of time he had with Rose, she still meant so much to him. She was one of the first people to care besides his family.
"Awww Stephen, you're gonna cry you poor thing!"
Her voice got a little shaky as well at the end of the sentence. Turns out Stephen was one of the first to actually care about her.
"Hey, being invisible has its own pros!"
"Hahah, I guess it does. Remember that time when we were camping in the woods and I told you a scary campfire story and you were totally scared of it?"
At this point neither of them could hide it. They were both crying.
"Ohh yeah! I remember that! The only reason I fell asleep that night was cuz I couldn't sleep the other night!"
"That's pretty funny. Then I told you there was a ghost on the other side of the forest."
"Then when we actually woke up a bunch of blue light came out of nowhere then you said they were spirits and I didn't believe you but you actually were telling the truth then we met Sally!"
"Haha yeah! Sally was awesome. I remember when we were tired Sally just let us rest on its back and it would do the walking while we were looking at the stars, living the life!"
"Yep."
"Yeah..."
Rose sniffled a bit and they walked up the stairs more, talking about their journey through tears of joy. They've reached the halfway point to climbing the Tower. Sooner or later they'll be at the very top, able to see everything for one last time.
Once, a scared and shy child, afraid of every little thing he didn't know, now transformed into a young man making friends with everyone around him. The fear and shyness he had before had slowly transformed into courage and determination. The second he had woke up, his fate was sealed. One more quarter until they reached the top.
The realization hit Stephen like a stab in the chest that his time with Rose is almost done, and he'll have to say goodbye. He wanted to bring Rose with him, but he knew that wouldn't work out. After building such a close friendship with her, Stephen wasn't ready to say goodbye to her and lose everything again. Stephen thought:
"No matter what, I always let what I think is special slip out of my hands... why do they always go? Can't at least one person stay?"
Suddenly, as if Rose read Stephen's mind, she put her hand on where his shoulder would be and told him:
"There'll be someone for you that'll be able to stay. Someone like you deserves it. Plus, even if you can't see them, they'll always have a spot in your heart."
"I guess so."
They reached the top, finally. The room at the top was in a circular shape with not much but a crystal in the middle and a large window. 5 days had felt like 5 years to Stephen and all he wanted to do was make everyone happy. All of a sudden, the windows were shut and the entrance leading to the staircase was shut. It was pitch black. Then, out of nowhere, a blue light lit up the whole room. Rose seemed to have had something. She was walking towards Stephen and then threw something with incredibly heavy weight on him. She was threw a 10 pound dumbbell
