St Gloriana's carrier actually had a proper runway and hangars so 102 could land there. Upon touching down, they were greeted by st. Glorianas airforce commander, Michael "mikey" charlton
Ryo taxiied in and shut down his spitfire and climbed out
Ryo- hi how are ya
Mikey: not bad, how was the flight?
Ryo- pretty rough but that's what you expect from springtime in the Atlantic, squadron commander Spencer "Ryo" Duesburry
Mikey: squadron commander Michael "Mikey" charlton.
A quick salute exchange takes place.
Mikey: so you guys got the photo recon gig
Ryo: yeah, you guys have the capability to do it yourself so why us?
Mikey: well there are a few reasons, mainly if you guys get spotted, they don't see ST. G and won't know what's up, buuuuut if we flew over and got spotted... well... you know, also our Air Force isnt exactly the best.
Ryo: I see
Ryo: anyway our first op isn't for a few days so we have some time to relax.
Mikey: yeah, I'll have your spits towed in and run familiarization checks on the pilots that will be flying the mk 7's
A FEW DAYS LATER IN THE NORWEGIAN SEA
it was stupid o'clock when Ryo woke up, walked around the barracks and woke up everyone else, had a hearty English breakfast, Ryo tried tea for the first time, he wasn't a fan.
Many of the younger pilots in the squadron were assigned the PR mk 7 spitfires.
The squadron took off 30 minutes before sunrise, and climbed to a crazy high 37,000 ft, Ryo's Rolls Royce griffon engine, despite the high altitude supercharger was gasping for air. The sunrise up there was breathtaking. They flew for a few hours until they encountered kuromorimine's carrier, after flying a few passes uneventfully, a large explosion could be heard.
clementine: THEY'VE SEEN US ITS FLAK!
Ryo- ah Shit, alright, their 109's can't touch us up here so let's aim for the practice grounds and get our photos there.
The squadron turned for the shore and practice grounds which were near the German coast, after another hour of flying they were in sight of it. Several mk14 spits had to return to the carrier with mechanical issues.
After taking their final photos, the flight returned to the carrier, Mikey was there waiting.
Mikey: well you didn't do anything wrong but.... kuromorimine traced you guys back to us and have now challenged us to a war match, I have sent word to the rest of 102 and they are making their way here as we speak.
Ryo: well shit, I guess it can't be helped huh
