The Date

Anika was busy texting in WhatsApp while Sid didn't disturb her. They were on their way to one of the restaurants in Mumbai. Reaching, Anika stepped out to see the same seven star restaurant in which Tia and Shivaay were to go on a date. That restaurant was Shivaay's favorite, it was once a destination of their meet.

"Sid I'm not coming in" Anika enunciated bewildering Siddharth.
"What?! Don't worry this time Shivaay won't come and disturb us." Sid chuckled when Anika glared at him.
"Sorry I mean this was where we left our date incomplete! Remember?!" He asked.
"Sid I don't want to remember my past nor do I want to even think about it." she said her voice reflecting pain.

"Anika it's fine, relax. We will go somewhere else!" Sid said feeling her pain as he was the only one to know about Shivaay and Anika's secret relationship. He turned back to leave when her mind voice said, "How could you hurt Sid for him? You considered him a random guy right?! He was your past Anika and that past must never affect you in anyway."

"Sid, sorry. Come on let's get in!" She said lightening their moods when he tried saying "but Anika..."
"Sid I'm just craving for the pasta here! It's been long, let's get in." she said impatiently when they heard a not so sweet voice from behind.

"What a surprise!" Tia spoke unpleasantly and Sid reflected the same tone.
"Anika you booked a table for us right? Then you must know we are coming here, so your visit here was a planned one, right?" Tia asked annoying Anika and Sid.
"Wrong. I don't want myself nor Anu to justify ourselves, we are just on a date." Sid said faking a smile.
"Oh wow, interesting. We are also on a date. Why don't we try double date then? Know Shivaay baby?!" Tia asked him excitedly but he remained silent instead.
"It's okay Tia. Anu won't feel comfortable with her boss." Sid said not wanting Anika to feel the pain of her past when Shivaay spoke, "But she would be comfortable with her boss's brother, right Sid?!"

Anika gestured Sid to accept the idea of double date without anymore discussions. Silently all four went in, both the couples taking seats such that Tia and Sid were seated opposite to each other and so were the other two.

"I must say, you got a nice chance Anika. You really can't afford this place but you are lucky enough to be here tonight." Tia said when Sid intentionally knocked down the half filled glass of wine spoiling Tia's dress. Fuming in anger, she left to clean up.

"Sorry Anu. This was my mistake to bring you here." Sid said when Anika said eyeing on Shivaay, "This is nothing Sid. It's not that hurting when compared to the everlasting wound someone gave me!"
"Anyway you know what I'm and that's all I need!" she finished smiling and Sid smiled back weakly in response.

One of the staff reached to them asking for their order when Anika said in a trance "Margherita Pizza with tomato, basil and mozzarella topping and not to forget, Tiramisu." and Shivaay continued along with her order "Pasta Con Pomodoro E Basilico with some red wine and Pistachio Panna Cotta."

They look at each other not wanting to lose themselves in their memories but they couldn't avoid the fact that the dishes Anika mentioned were Shivaay's favorite and the dishes Shivaay mentioned were Anika's favorite. Every time they visited this restaurant they used to order the same for each other.

It was their habit. Even if time passes, habits don't change quickly. Do they?

Tia came back very soon much to Sid's annoyance. They ordered the rest of the food and sat back enjoying time in their own way, Sid and Anika talking about random topics while Tia talking to Shivaay about her recent trip to London.

"It's a double date. That means we must interact with each other! Right?!" Shivaay asked stopping Tia mid way and eyeing the other two.
"There is no rule like that!" Sid said making weird faces.
"Yeah Shivaay baby!" Tia joined along with Sid.
"Nope there is. I-I mean it's pointless if we don't interact among ourselves, what's the fun?!" Shivaay asked again.

Shivaay was stuck on one point while Sid and Tia on the other, Anika was a spectator. She knew it was completely futile to spend her energy. By the time the argument came to no end, the food was placed on the table.

Being hungry they stopped their so called discussion for the moment. While eating, Tia spoke up "Shivaay baby, have this Vitello tonnato! This is my favorite of all the Italian dishes."
"Horrible taste!" Sid exclaimed to which Tia glared at him.

"Tia your Shivaay baby hates it and always tells Vitello tonnato has a horrible taste." Sid covered up what he meant.
"He will love it from now then. Wife and husband should like each other's tastes! You will do anything for me know baby?!" She asked offering a morsel of food from her plate when Shivaay ate not before saying, "Anything for her Sid!"
"For whom Shivaay?!" Sid asked with a smirk in the end as he noticed his brother eyeing Anika.
"For you only! Shut up and eat now." he said shooting a glare at his brother.

Anika was surprised. Not only because he ate the food he hated the most but he didn't behave stubbornly which he usually does.

Tia changed him a lot? That must surely be impossible thought Anika.
