Shawn's POV
I just watched a girl get rejected to homecoming, I think her name was Lyric. I feel really bad, she ran away crying. I wonder why he said no, she was a gorgeous girl, how come I've never talked to her before? I have a class with her first block, I think I'm gonna try and talk to her.
The bell rang, 15 minutes until class started. I usually talk with my friends until the bell rings but I just went straight to Algebra today.
Lyric was already there, she was the only one in the class.
"Hey Lyric!" I said.
She looked surprised I was talking to her. She just nodded in response. She had tear stained cheeks, her face was red.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
She just nodded again. I went over and sat in the desk next to her.
"Lyric, I know you're not okay. I saw you get rejected by Austin."
"You saw that? That's so embarrassing!"
"A lot of people saw." I replied.
"Oh gosh, now I just feel stupid." She grabbed her bag and left the class.
Well shit.
Lyric's POV
I can't believe a lot of people saw me get rejected. I feel so stupid. I went to Allison's class. I peeked my head in and signaled her to come outside. "Class is staring in 3 minutes, make it snappy." "I'm skipping today, I'll come by your house after school." "Wait, why are you skipping?" "I just don't want to be here today." "Alright, I love you, see you after school Lyric."
I made it out fairly easy, the alarm usually goes off but it didn't today. I walked all the way home, I was about to step in the house, then I realize, my dad would kill me seeing me skip school. I decided to go to the park down the street instead.
