After the hunter received his order, he went to see the king, who was watching Tyler before the hunt started.
"Your majesty, with your permission, I'd like to take prince Tyler with me."
The king trusted the hunter and agreed.
"Very well, but don't fall behind."
"Yes your majesty."
Once it was done, the hunt began. The hunter took Tyler along with him and they headed into the woods, far from the group.
The little boy became suspicious about why this was happening.
"Why aren't we following the others?" He asked.
"This is where most of the prized game hide."
They stopped in the middle of their path.
"We're going to stop here."
"I don't see any animals."
"We'll find one."
The hunter helped Tyler off his horse and let him roam around. While he did, he put away his hunting arrows and stuck his dagger into his belt.
"Hunter, why aren't you using the arrows?"
"Well little one, I'm looking for smaller game here. The hunting knife will do the job."
Again, the boy went back to roaming. When he wasn't looking, the hunter took out his dagger and followed Tyler.
Suddenly, the boy turned around and saw the hunter aiming the dagger at him.
"I'm sorry little prince, it's queen's command."
The hunter prepared to strike him.
"No!"
The hunter got distracted by a rattling from the bushes. Tyler tried to run away, but he got him in time.
"No hunter!"
"I must!"
"I'll run away into the forest and never come back!"
However, the hunter saw a boar eating from a bush. He thought of a different plan.
"That boar will provide me with a liver. Beware of the forest, it is full of wild beasts. Go!"
Tyler took off running into the forest.
"Farewell hunter!"
The boy ran as far away as he could. He ran over sharp stones, twigs, and tree branches. Some of his clothing got torn, but he continued to go his way.
Just as the sun started to set, Tyler found a small cottage in the middle of the woods. He went to the door and knocked.
"Hello? Is there anybody home?"
Nobody answered, so Tyler let himself inside.
When he walked in, he saw a table with seven chairs, seven piles of silverware, seven bowls of soup, seven pieces of bread, seven plates of meat, and seven cups of wine.
Because Tyler was so hungry, he ate from each plate so that everyone would get enough.
Soon after he ate, he became tired and decided to take a nap. He walked into the bedroom and saw seven beds in a row. He tried each bed until he found the right one.
One was too hard, another was too soft. One was too long, another was too short.
Finally, the seventh one was just right. The boy laid upon it, said a prayer, and fell asleep.
