3rd person P.O.V

Prom, a special night that a high school student will only get to experience once in they're lives.

A night to truly remember.

That's how y/n saw it.

And no matter how many boys asked her to the dance, she'd always decline them, for she'd been waiting for a specific someone to ask her out.

Whether it was how his bleached hair swayed in the wind or how his ocean blue eyes sparkled when a light hit them, it was intoxicating to y/n.

And of course, she was thinking about none other then Corbyn Besson, the popular smart ass of the school.

But as the days rolled by and prom got closer and closer, y/n started to wonder if Corbyn would even think of asking her to the dance.

Eventually, the day of the prom arrived and y/n sat on her bed, lonely.

For no matter how many shooting stars she wished upon or prayed to god that he'd make Corbyn have feelings for her, he'd never return the feelings.

The graduation was gruesomely long as students got up and collected their awards and trophies from their teachers, but eventually, it was over and the dance could start.

Everything started off as the usual.

Everyone would dance and sing (or scream in some cases) to songs and enjoy themselves as they hung out with their friends or dates.

As for y/n, she started off perfectly fine before her feet started to hurt from her heels, so she decides to sit down for a bit.

Just as y/n was about to get back up again, she saw just out of the corner of her eye, Corbyn sit down with Elizabeth, one of y/n's old friends.

Y/n watch the two secretively as one of Corbyn's arms snaked it's way around Elizabeth's shoulders.

A feeling of pain and jealousy engulfed y/n as she choked back some tears that threatened to fall.

Elizabeth knew y/n liked Corbyn, yet here she is on prom night with his arm wrapped around her.

Just before a single tear fell from y/n's glass-like eyes, she got up and quickly fled to the bathrooms.

As y/n entered she was glad to find no one in there before her cheeks became drenched in her tears.

Y/n looked at herself in the mirror, her makeup now ruined, as she spat out insults to her reflection.

"How could you be so stupid!?" she screamed.

"Of course he wouldn't like you! Just look at you! You're disgusting!"

Y/n continued to sob and yell out insults into the mirror not caring if people heard her.

"You're nothing compared to her! You're an ugly bitch! A whore! A nobody! A waist of space! Nothing, you are...nothing compared to her."

Suddenly, Elizabeth walked into the bathroom, her hair and makeup looking flawless, unlike y/n.

"Y/n! Are you ok?" asked Elizabeth as she saw her past friend, makeup and hair an absolute mess.

"I'm fine." growls y/n, trying her best to stop her tears from flowing.

"Are you sure? You don't look fi-"

Before Elizabeth could continue, y/n pushed past the perfect girl and stomped out of the bathroom.

Well, that is until she ran into another body, knocking y/n to the ground.

"Oh sorry!" said a person who's voice was all too familiar to y/n.

"C-Corbyn?" was all y/n managed to muster out.

"Hey, umm, I saw Elizabeth walk towards the restrooms and was wondering is she's in there." said Corbyn, looking quite awkward.

Y/n's heart shattered to hear that Corbyn was just here to see Elizabeth.

With a huff and a quiet sob, y/n stood up, pushed Corbyn aside and ran.

Where to, she had no idea, but she ran, out of the building and onto the silent streets. (Though you could still here the music from the dance going on at the school)

Y/n ran until her vision became too blurry to possibly see in front of you before collapsing onto the gravel-like ground, her sobs easily audible.

"Why? Why her and not me?" she cried.

And as if things couldn't get any worse, the dark clouds that loomed above y/n started crying with her.

With a heavy sigh, y/n pulled out her phone and called her parents to pick her up from where she was.

Prom, a special night that a high school student will only get to experience once in they're lives.

A night to truly remember.

That's how y/n use to see it.

Heyyyyyy.
I know this one is really bad, but I didn't have the best time at my prom and I though I'd write about it.
This was really rushed so it's probably really bad.
I'm sorry.
Welp, I'll stop writing about my life problems here.
I'm already writing a short story about some drama that happened between a friend and me.
Stay awesome ma cakes!
