"Sorry about my mom" Juliet apologized when the teens were left alone sitting at the beach after eating dinner.
Maya waved her hand and shook her head," No-Don't be, I think she had the right to be suspicious"
"What makes you say that?" Aniya asked looked at Maya who just looked off to the waters
"It's better to have someone who notices anything, then one that doesn't" Juliet looked at her for a moment and noticed the distant tone in her voice.
"What did you guys think about what my parents told us?" She asked deciding to change the subject not wanting there to be unnecessary prying, especially since she just met Maya, and she knew how invasive it would be to ask anything personal.
She had a fair share of 'friends' back at her hometown, who didn't know the definition of personal space. They would take things into measures that were considered borderline harassment.
"It makes sense" Aniya spoke up making Maya and Seth look at her, she didn't notice their stares since she was looking down to her notebook," The dreams" She said opening her book," I didn't grow up here in Forks-but the moment my family moved here, there was just this feeling, you know?" The teens noticed how she sounded unsure about growing up here-it was as if she was unsure herself.
Juliet nodded her head," Tell me about it, I feel the same way, and-It's a comforting feeling, it was like I was drawn here for a reason, as silly as it sounds. It just feels like a place I actually want to call home"
"Really?" Maya said a little too excited
Seth rolled his eyes lightly chuckling at her reaction," Well, as someone born and raised here, it's an honour for someone to say that. Usually, when people move here, the first thing they think about is how dreary and boring it is" He smiled at them.
"The people who think that are probably just seeking for anything that gives them that vibe of excitement. Here, you have to really see behind the surface" Juliet explained," For instance, being surprised by Jacob Black and falling into the cold water" She joked
Seth snorted while Maya lightly hit his arm," Seth!"
Aniya scoffed," Of all people-Sorry if he's your friend, but I think you both know how much he and I get along"
Juliet looked at her and raised her eyebrow," I'm curious, what exactly happened between you two?"
Aniya frowned and rolled her eyes," Let's just say he and I are complete opposites-end of story" She brushed it off not wanting to spend another minute talking about Jacob Black. She already had him for most of her classes and dealt with his constant insults on a daily basis. So, she took every opportunity for granted that was away from the male.
"What about you Jules?" Aniya looked at her and leaned on her palm," The moment I saw you, I saw this knowing look, like there is someone here that is causing inner turmoil"
Maya and Seth looked at each other for a split second knowing what it was, and they looked at Juliet who just sighed
"Summer Romance" was all she said and it was enough for the three teens to not ask anything more.
