Day 1
"So, just to clarify, the only thing you've eaten today is some chips and salsa?"
"Yup." Damon replied, sounding less enthused than I had ever heard him be before.
I was leaning over the counter, looking at Damon, who was sitting on a stool behind the counter.
"And how are you doing so far?"
"Great, Veena. I'm jumping for joy." He deadpanned sarcastically.
"Don't get too grumpy, you still have thirteen more days to go after today."
He groaned loudly. "Let's just get this over with, shall we?"
Day 2
"Damon! It's your favorite person in the whole wide world!"
A fake gasp sounded loudly from the top of the stairs. "Beyoncé?!" He asked with false hope, only to find me.
"Alright, your second favorite person in the whole wide world..."
"Don't worry, V. You'll always be my number one." He promised, slinging an arm around my shoulder, which I immediately dislodged.
"So," I walked into the kitchen to look through what he had in his fridge. I had promised to make him a delicious, authentically vegetarian dish. "Beyoncé, huh?"
He shrugged nonchalantly, sitting on a stool. "It was either her, or Shakira."
"Oh, that makes this so much better for you." I said, tossing various ingredients together in a metal bowl.
"What?" He asked, his more than common smirk taking place on his expression. "Her hips don't lie." His eyes widened teasingly.
I made a face at his implication. "Oh, gross."
"What are you making over there?" He asked curiously, trying to take a peek into the bowl.
I tilted it away from him so he wouldn't be able to see what was inside. "You don't get to see yet. That's cheating."
"How is that cheating?"
I rolled my eyes and continued with making his meal. It was a simple dish, so it didn't take long, only a few minutes. I emptied the contents into a smaller bowl and placed it in front of him, along with a fork.
"A salad? Really? This is my gourmet vegetarian meal?"
"Yep! Eat up, Salvatore." I crossed my arms in front of me, an expectant look crossing my face.
He glared at me long and hard before experimentally picking up one of the spinach leaves. He eyed it with distaste and the look residing in those eyes was nothing short of pissed off.
I was having way too much fun with this.
Day 3
"Oh, no. You are not making another 'gourmet vegetarian meal' for me." Damon's voice rang in my right ear as I pressed the phone securely to it.
"But why not?" I asked disappointedly.
"Because last time you did, I got majorly ripped off!" He exclaimed as if it was obvious.
"Oh, come on!"
"No. Absolutely not."
"Damon, please?"
"No. I'm making my own meal this time." He said confidently. "Never again will I be fooled by your lies."
The line went dead and I pulled the phone away from my ear. My expression was one of shock as I stated at the blank screen.
