Lost Love

Together at last?!

"Mack, you can come in." Blue called.

I followed my mate's scent until I stood in front of her. She was more beautiful than the night I met her. Her beautiful, soft hair had turned silver and fell like a waterfall from her ponytail to her full hips. Her lips were still just as red and made me want to kiss her senseless. Her body had softened and filled in a bit. Please let her take a chance on me. My eyes devoured her body. I could tell she was beautiful inside and out. I knelt in submission before my beloved mate and offered her my hand. Indigo slowly placed her smaller hand in mine and looked at me. Was she scared of me?! "I am so sorry Indigo for my mistake and all the problems that came of it. I'm sorry for any and all pain I've caused you and our family and if you let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to y'all." I bowed my head and waited for her answer. "Mack, I'm willing to give you a chance. But, we need to go slow ok?"

My head popped up and I started to breathe again at her answer. "Anything for you Beloved."

The next morning...
I awoke to the luscious scent of my mate...like snickerdoodles fresh from the oven. I rolled over in search of her and found the bed empty?! I panicked thinking it had all been a cruel dream before I remembered Indigo was sleeping in her own room right next door to me. Her scent came from the pillow and blanket she had given me from her own bed. My body stirred with excitement, thinking of her wearing my shirt on her delectable body as she slept. I wanted to be mated with her so badly, but for her I'd wait forever. I hopped out of bed in a rush to get ready for the day. The whole family was spending the day together.

Just before I left the room, I took one last look in the mirror. Did I look alright for her? I hope so!
We bumped into each other in the hallway. She smiled at me and my heart started racing. I followed her to the kitchen table and held out her chair for her. I know, I know I'm old school but what did you expect I'm 70! She smiled up at me and I felt as giddy as the proverbial schoolgirl. I noticed Jack did the same for Blue after they got the twins in their highchairs. I knew I like that boy! As we ate we talked over our plans for the day. Indigo and I would take Charlie in my truck. And Blue and Jack would drive with the twins. We we're going to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco. Blue and Charlie insisted on being there at 9 when the zoo opened. They wouldn't tell us why, just said it was a surprise. So we had to hurry a bit to get there on time. The whole way up Charlie kept up a non-stop stream of conversation that included both me and Indigo. One of the first things Charlie had told me was that since she called Indigo "Gam-Gam" and her mom called me Pop, she was gonna call me "Pop-Pop"! My heart sang at the silly grandfather name. This was what I had missed all my adult life. Anything that tied me to my family made me happy. This was gonna good day!
