What she was hiding

It's been six months to the day since I found Indigo, my mate, my life for the second time. I love her so much and we have grown close but I can tell she is holding something back. It's so hard to wait but all I can do is continue to earn her trust.

Indigo was the only one home when I got back from the pack clinic. She said the most nerve racking sentence in the English language "We need to talk." Cold panic gripped me in it's claws. Is she gonna reject us? my wolf whimpered. How bad was this?

I had to force myself to sit down beside her when she patted the couch. She looked straight ahead, not at me and not really on anything at all. "Mack, I don't know how to say this, so I'm just going to spit it out. My husband was a good man deep down. But he was horribly broken and twisted. His father was frequently violent with him and then he joined the military and it just about finished him off. His P.T.S.D ate him alive. He was a wonderful man till we had been married for a while then he started hitting me." she choked out. Oh my God, my stomach rolled at the thought of anyone hurting Indigo. "He always made me feel like it was my fault and that I deserved it for being such a lousy wife. Because his uniform wasn't pressed right or his food not ready when he wanted it or anything he could blame me for. He let his son treat me like he did. And then when Blue was born it just got worse until he forced me out of the house at gunpoint one night. He didn't let take Blue with me! In court he and his mom said I was a bad mother and couldn't to care of her. I fought him in court for three years before I got her back!" She turned around and grabbed me by the shoulders and said "What I didn't know was that her brother had been raping Blue all those years! I swear I didn't know Mack, you gotta believe me!!!" She broke down into incoherent sobs. I felt so sick at what Indigo and Blue had suffered because I left them there with males that should have protected them and instead had hurt them so much. I pulled Indigo into my arms and cradled her while telling her that I believed her and I was so sorry that I had left her and Blue in such a horrific situation. I told her how brave and strong she was to have survived and that she had obviously done a fantastic job of raising Blue, because all the good in Blue had to come from her. I begged her to forgive me for my stupidity.
"You had no clue, so there's nothing to forgive." "Mack I love and trust you so much. Now there's nothing holding us back from enjoying whatever time we have left together."

I couldn't believe it! Indigo loved me! And she trusted me! After all this time we could finally be together forever. I slipped down on one knee still holding her arms and asked her to marry me. She smiled through her tears and said "Yes, you silly man!". She pulled her arms free and tenderly framed my face before peppering my face with kisses. When she touched my lips with hers it was incredible. I jumped up and pulled her onto my lap. She utterly overwhelmed me.  Her soft bottom on my lap; her lips and teeth and tongue kissing and nipping and licking my lips, neck and ears; her hands devoured my body.  She squeezed my shoulders and ran her greedy hands down my arms before going back up to my chest. Everywhere she touched was like liquid fire.

"Hey, you two get a room!"
Blue had come in the front door and there we were making out on the couch like a pair of randy teens! How embarrassing! I blushed as we pulled apart. Blue was smiling at us seeing how happy we were. Jack came up to Blue and pulled her into his arms and said "No, I think it's about time they got a house." with a grin.

I smiled up at Jack and said"Then it's a good thing we've been building that house behind this one."
