As we entered the zoo, we heard strange whooping sounds. Jack, Indigo and I looked around trying to find the source of them. Charlie pulled me down the right hand path on to a large deck and the rest of the family followed. Charlie pointed out over the pond to the island like Gibbon habitat. The gibbons were whooping! Blue and Charlie giggled at our shocked expressions. "They only do this in the morning, it's why we just had to get here early!" We all laughed at the surprise. "Pop-Pop may I have some money for fish food, please?" Charlie asked, pointing to the machine on the deck. My heart squeezed with joy. "Sure thing monkey." We stayed there watching the gibbons and feeding the fish to watch them compete for the food. "Oh look, black swans they're my favorite." whispered Indigo. "I can see why you like them." The pair of large birds with their black feathers and bright orange beaks were gorgeous. "They mate for life you know." I said gazing longingly into Indigo's eyes. She blushed and looked away. "Hey let's go you guys we have the rest of the zoo to see!" Blue and Jack had walked ahead with Charlie. Leaving me with Indigo and the twins to follow behind.

The adults were ready for a break by the time we made it to a rest area in the Texas section. After restroom trips and snagging drinks from the vending machines, we settled down to watch Charlie play on the see through slide that went through the otter habitat.  I loved watching her play. "How has she been handling everything?"
"She misses her Dad, but she's doing ok." Jack said. "I think she'll keep me." Jack said. "Well I think you're a keeper!" Blue said pulling Jack to her for a kiss. "Hey watch that bear!" Charlie exclaimed. We all turned to the bears and watched as one bear swam nose first into wall and use it's snout to push off and swim the other way and then do it all over again and again and again. It was so funny and the bear was still doing it when we left the area.

When we got back home, I hurried around the car  to open the door for Indigo. She looked at me with what I hope was a little bit of love. "I really loved spending time with you today." "Me too." I said. "Would you like to go out to dinner and dancing with me? We could double with my brother and his wife?"
