Mornin'!

Kirishima broadcasted around ten minutes after he woke up, making sure that the person he was talking to was available.

You just woke up?

Bakugou replied, immediately smiling as every noise that wasn't Kirishima's voice seemed to lower in volume. There was genuinely nothing he loved more than hearing that voice first thing in the morning.

Pretty much, yeah.

The redhead made his way into his bathroom, still in his pyjamas as he started to brush his teeth.

Well you better hurry your ass up.

Why? It ain't like I'm gonna be late or anything.

Even though he was quite confident about that, Kirishima checked the time, almost scared that he was late because of Bakugou's response.

It'll still be better to be early on the first day. You don't wanna get lost or not know what class you're gonna be in.

The blonde felt a genuine concern for Kirishima, wanting to make sure that his first day in an actual school went well. He knew that it could go really wrong for him, which he would do anything to prevent.

That reminds me, I don't even know what my class will be based on. The tests I took when I should've been in middle school?

Think so.

The redhead sighed, spitting into the sink before pulling out the almost empty tub of hair gel from the bathroom cabinet.

Then I'm screwed, man! There's no way I got above 50%. And I studied real hard for that.

That's your own fault, dumbass.

I swear my tutor was telling me the wrong stuff.

Bakugou scoffed and rolled his eyes, knowing full well that Kirishima was just trying to make excuses.

He was telling you the right stuff, you just couldn't be assed to study properly.

Maybe you're right. I did study, but a lot of it felt useless.

Of course I'm right. I'm in one of the top classes, after all.

No need to brag so much, Blasty!

The way they would both act as though they were talking to someone face to face in real life was really quite adorable. The way they'd smile, laugh, cry, it was all so pure and raw despite just being in their heads.

Their hearts both genuinely yearned for the day that they'd be able to see those reactions with their own eyes.

If you keep going with that cocky attitude then you might surprise yourself, and not in a good way.

Kirishima was never afraid to call the blonde out on his bullshit. Sometimes it's what he really needed, whether he was ready to admit that or not. Kirishima never failed to keep him grounded.

Fuck off, I can still remember what was on that exam like the back of my hand.

Bakugou threw his bag over his shoulder, straightening out his uniform as he looked at himself in the mirror. He looked like a normal kid going to high school. It was quite strange to have to wear a uniform again after not having to even look at it all summer.

It was just another school year. More days for people to whisper about him, assume things about him, why he was being so secretive about his soulmate. People actually suspected that he didn't have one.
