Once Bakugou had reached his house, he still hadn't heard a thing from Kirishima. Normally they'd barely go ten minutes without some sort of communication whenever they could.

The blonde knew that he would still have been walking home, and there was no reason for him to not say anything, right? Ugh, Bakugou fucking hated how Kirishima was the only one to make him think like this.

But Kirishima was probably thinking too. There was no doubt in Bakugou's mind that he was, in some way, beating himself up about what he had said at the school gates. Even though it was pretty damn heartfelt and would have had anyone swooning, the redhead wouldn't have seen it like that, despite Bakugou's obviously positive reaction.

Maybe just leaving the subject for now was best.

Oi loser, you never gave me your phone number.

The blonde sent through, realising that to be a fact when he was thinking of things to start a conversation with. Barely a second later, he received a reply.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that.

It's not like they actually ever needed them, but they were good to have regardless.

They exchanged numbers, but Bakugou couldn't exactly hold in his frustration for long.

He was always worse at communicating than Kirishima was. People tended to have slip ups where they would accidentally broadcast things that they meant to just think to themselves, yet Kirishima never did that, not even once.

Bakugou would sometimes accidentally broadcast things he said aloud when his mind was completely away from reality and sidetracked. Like when he was particularly mad, he saw more red than he did reality, and tended to accidentally share his anger or whatever was causing him to feel so disconnected with the redhead.

Any situation where his mind was close to out of it had him accidentally letting things slip through.

It definitely led to one or two rather embarrassing situations to say the least, but Kirishima was always understanding and told the blonde to not worry about it.

Bakugou wished Kirishima would slip up sometimes. Just accidentally let a real thought end up on Bakugou's side. Even so, after their younger teenage years, the blonde had genuinely considered the fact that he let him in on all of his thoughts anyway. Bakugou liked the idea of that.

Did you hear what I said earlier? He asked as he sat on his bed, waiting for the inevitable burst in from his mother.

Kirishima picked up his pace, wanting to get home and relaxed as soon as possible. He did hear it, but talking about this subject still made him nervous. Surprisingly, it was actually easier to say to his face, because he could at least see the initial reaction.

After taking a deep breath, he answered, deciding to leave the answer kind of open.

Yeah, I did.

Bakugou was surprised that was all he was given to work with. No other comments, not even a hint of how Kirishima wanted to go about this whole thing.

And?

The redhead chuckled, he should've known that Bakugou wouldn't just accept that right now.

I'm glad. Beyond that, even. It's hard to explain through words right now, really. It's kinda breathtaking.

Fucking good.

Hey, I've kinda been thinking since earlier. Are we gonna tell our parents? Mine are gonna be harassing me the second I get in. He giggled, thinking of how they would be sat just waiting for him to get home.
