Chapter 5: Graduated

April 30, 2012...

Irene's P.O.V

Being a student of MedTech is pretty hard, but I have to do this. Then our adviser came, as we stopped doing what we are doing. "Students, I have the result of the exam. Now, I'm going to announce the the top 3."

The others looked at me, as I looked down, hopefully, I'm the magna cum laude. "The magna cum laude is..." She said as they all looked at me, "Ms. Irene De Los Reyes." They all clapped and cheered as I thanked them.

"Anak, kumusta school?" Dad asked as we are eating our dinner. "Mama, Dad, Ate Jade." I said, as they looked a bit worried. "Sweety, ok lang kung Hindi ikaw." Sabi ni Mama, pero ngumiti lang ako. "Magna Cum Laude ako!" I said as I stood up. They all are happy as we hugged and jumped because of happiness. "Congrats, anak/bunso." They said as they kissed me.

The night, Denmark texted me that he'll picked me tomorrow as I agreed. So excited to tell him.

May 1, 2012...

The next day...

We all heard the doorbell, as I know who is it. Mama opened the door, as I just ate. "Irene." I looked up as my mouth is full of food. Gosh, I quickly finish the food in my mouth as I drink water. "Love..." I said as we hugged.

"Kumain ka na? Coffee? Tea?" I asked, as they all just laughed. "Busog pa ako, love." He said, still chuckling. I nodded as I just finished my tea, and off the go. "Hey Peggy." He said as he pet Peggy.

After eating, he drove me to my university. Just waiting till the traffic light turned green, I looked at Denmark, who is looking at the road, as his one hand held mine.

"Denmark." I called as he looked at me. He looked worried, "Hey, if it's about you, not being magna cum laude. Ok lang." He said as his hand left mine and cupped my cheeks.

"Hindi. Hindi yun." I said, "Then ano?" He asked, and now driving. "I made it. Magna cum laude ako." I said as we drove to a Jollibee driveway. "OMG, congrats love!!" He said as we hugged. "Sabi ko sayo eh, kaya kaya mo yan." He said as he kissed my forehead.

Then we took our orders, two cheeseburger, two fries, and two coke floats. I feed him while driving, as I just need to finish my fries and drinks. We managed to finish our food, once we arrived at my university.

"See you later, love." He said as we kissed. "Sunduin kita or sunduin ka ni tita?" He asked, "Sunduin ako ni mama." He nodded. "Ingat ka lagi, love." I said, as he nodded. "Pati din ikaw, love. I love you." He said as we kissed again. "I love you too." Then I got out of the door, and waved at him. He waved and leave.

Then I saw the Starlight, ok so, Paulyn is in Criminology, Mary Joie in BS in Business Administration, Marian in Tourism, Alexa in Teaching, while I'm in MedTech. We all are graduating on Friday. We all went inside and went to our perspective classroom.

May 11, 2012...

It was finally the day. The day, I'll graduate. Ate Jade, prepared my make up, and hair as I wore my uniform and my toga. Then we enter the van, as Dad drove.

"Let us clapped our hands as we listen to the class valedictorian." Everyone clapped as I went on the stage.

After, I received my awards, medals, ribbons, and diploma, and after the traditional throw of the hat, I looked at my family, as I hugged them.

"Thank you dad." I said, then I looked at Ate Jade and Mama, "Thank you Mama, at Ate Jade." I cried as I hugged them. "Congratulations, anak/bunso." They said as we shared family hug. "Family Picture." I pulled away and turned around, as I smiled. We posed as we slung our hands on our shoulder.

"Hey." I immediately kissed him, he was taken back but kissed me back and pulled me closer. "Congratulations, love ko." He said as he cupped my cheeks. "Thank you, love ko." I said as he kissed my nose. "Picture naman kayo." We looked at Dad as he took pictures. There are many poses, staring, kissed, smiling, etc.

Then me and the Starlight also have our pictures together. As we went back to the barangay, it look like a festival again, as they congratulated us.

We blow our candles with our cakes as they clapped, I motined Denmark to be closer beside me as he gave the camera to Ate Cassie. As he is closer, I pulled him in a kiss, that made everyone cheered.

Then, nagyakapan kami, as hinalikan niya ulo ko. "Everyone, para sa Starlight, at para na din kina Irene at Denmark." Sabi ni Dad, as nag cheers kami ng drinks.

After ng celebration, nag-stay si Denmark sa bahay. "Love, halika na." Sabi ko as napansin kong inaantok na siya. Si Peggy, natulog na sa soft, feathery na upuan ko, as humiga na kaming dalawa.

"Love, you ready to unlock the new chapter of your life?" Tanong niya, "Our lives, love." Sabi ko, "And yes." Dagdag ko, as hinalikan niya noo ko. "I'll always support, and stay in your side, love. I promise." He said as I kissed his cheeks. "Thank you, love. Likewise." Then, nag-kiss na kami, until makatulog kami.
