Chapter 1: Broken Family

Year 2007-2010...

At San Rafael, Bulacan, Philippines lived a happy family, the De Los Reyes Family, the family just consist of three members, mom, dad, a daughter. They were all happy, until, one secret was revealed.

"No! I am not allowing you!" Mrs. Carmina De Los Reyes yelled as she pushed her 15 year old daughter, Irene De Los Reyes on the couch, as she cried. "Mama, pangarap ko yun. Magtiwala ka lang, sisikat din kami." "Wow, sisikat? Mas mabuti kung pagtuunan mo ng pansin yang pagiging flight attendant mo! Isang taon na lang, gra-graduate ka nang highschool." She yelled on her face.

"Alam ko, Ma. Napagsasabay ko naman pag-aaral ko at banda ko. Just give me a chance." She said, as she tried to reach out her hand, but yanked it away. She yelled. "Choose, banda or ako?" Irene looked at her in disbelief. "Wow, ma." She said, as she stood up.

"Kung gusto mo tawagin ko sina Marian in at Alexa, at sabihin na tigilan kalokohan niyo." "Ma, di kami nagloloko! Ako mismo ang bumuo sa grupo!" She finally let it out, as her mom slapped her. Michael saw it, and immediately went to Irene side, as she held her face, crying. "Anu ba, Carmen?! Anak mo si Irene!" He yelled.

"Yan?! Anak?! Diko na nga kilala kung anak ko pa ba yan!" She glared at her as she went upstairs. "Dad." She cried, as he hugged her.

Since then, Irene and Carmina's relationship wasn't like before, as the young lady tried to talk to her mother, she would always put her cold shoulders. Eveynight, the married couple won't sleep without a fight.

Until one day, the two decided to end their relationship as Carmina agreed. Because of this, hate, and anger was all Irene feel for her mother.

On her graduation day, her god mother, Joana Dela Villa, and her daughter, Jade Dela Villa we're there. Her godmother also accompanied Michael for Irene's award. As she went on stage, for her Valedictorian speech, she looked around, hoping she would find her mother, but no.

That moment she realize, her mother already abandoned her. She took all of Carmina's stuff and put all together in one room. Her heart ached as flashbacks of her mother's words.

During her college, she took a MedTech, for her to be a doctor, but never forget her band. She also started accepting the fact, she doesn't have a mother. Time flies, as she noticed the emotion between her godmother and father.

During her 18th birthday, Joanna and Jade, also with her father prepared her debut. Then, all of them delivered their messages and wishes to her. Then as she was about to change her clothes, she heard voices. "Ma, I think dapat malaman na ni Tito Michael, Irene. You can't be like this forever." Jade said, as Irene leaned on the door, eavesdropping. "The heck, Jade. Di yun pwede. May pamilya na si Michael, kaibigan ko si Carmen, inaanak ko si Irene. Magagalit siya." Joanna said as she cried.

"Mahal ko si Michael, at mahal ko din si Irene. Pero di talaga pwede." Irene's heart hurt. She treated Joanna as her mother. She leaves, totally knowing her father and Joanna love each other.

Day of Micahel's birthday, she told Jade about her plan. They even went to a jewelry store for a gift. Then, it was time for the celebration. Then it was her time to deliver her wish and message to her father.

She revealed that she knows the truth, as the girl handed him a box. As he opened it, showed a ring. An engagement ring. "I want you to be happy, Dad." Just because of that, he confessed. He confessed his love for Joanna. The two children are so happy.

The day of their wedding, she was one of the bridesmaid, along with the girls, as Jade was her maid of honor. She cried as she saw the happiness in her father's eyes again.

Then it was again her time to deliver her message and wishes to the couple. "I always thought, one day, Dad will walk me through the aisle and meet my man, but I didn't think I'll be the first one to walk you." Everyone laughed, as she did too.

"Pero don't worry dad. Lalakad mo din naman ako, who knows baka Malapit na." They all laughed, "After 20 years pa." Michael said as they all laughed.

"Seeing you this happy, Dad. This happy when you are with me, I know, you are with the right woman. I love you, as much as I love you Ninang Joanna and Ate Jade. Wait no... Mama Joanna."

"I'm happy to welcome you and ate Jade to De Los Reyes Family." The two stood up, also with Jade. "Welcome to the family, Mama and Ate." They all shared their group hug.

Irene never called her ninang anymore, instead she called her "Mama". Michael also adopted Jade, as her last name changed, from De La Villa to De Los Reyes. They also put a big picture of them, in their new house at San Rafael, Bulacan. It was like Carmina didn't existed. Whenever someone would put Carmina as topic, Irene would always tell them, that her mother is Joanna, and she doesn't know Carmina

Whenever is the kids recognition, they'll be there to support and cheered for them. They all are family. A perfect family.

After 2 years, they all are happy. They already forgot Carmina.
